"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I was diagnosed as Schizophrenic... Should I continue dating/trying to date?

I NEVER notice girls looking, even after dressing to the 9's, and on the rare occasion that I do go out with an attractive woman, I hear rude comments about why anyone like that would be interested in me. Right now I'm getting tired of the idea of dating and have no desire to ever have a family or get married or even be comitted to anyone. Should I continue dating? I am not going to receive medication or therapy due to complete refusal by my parents to help me out with costs. Should I give up on the dating thing, or maybe hold off and get a vasectomy?

5% of people don't marry, and 1 people out of 100 are schizophrenic. I'm guessing that almost all the Schizophrenic people fall into the 5% who never marry. The other 4% probably have other major issues, and very rarely does one who is socially apt never get married.

I've known Schizophrenic people and they're normally awful with social interactions and it's obvious they're not getting married, even though I've seen them struggle and work and sweat with a net result of just annoying everyone around them. If I try to do the self-improvement thing, I have a feeling I'd be just as pathetic as those guys, trying to build a house with only a hammer. Sometimes, it's like looking into a mirror, although they often make my skin crawl and make me want to slap them.

So should I continue in my attempt to date beautiful women or settle for being selfish and get lonely bipolar sluts?

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

I don't know how treatable or manageable schizophrenia is but I'd suggest you make healing yourself from within your #1 priority and put the female matters on the back burner until you've got yourself together.

Exactly.

Scizophrenic people do marry. As a matter of fact, mental diseases run amock in my family; my mother is bipolar, my aunt schizophrenic, my grandfather schizophrenic too, and so on.

What I see happening a lot, is people like that marrying out of desperation. The first person knocking on their door gets a ring on the finger. You don't want to do that. It's better to be alone and in control of yourself, than hold hands with someone and go on a never-ending downwards spiral. I've seen it happen, and it's not pretty. You do need someone out-of-ordinary, but if you think about it, even ordinary guys are struggling to find one girl like that.

As it was said, get your stuff together and don't knock down 'self-improvement'. Yes, it'll be harder for you than it is for most people (most people don't even take a chance) but it can be done. There are people who achieved a lot who had mental diseases.

Trent Reznot is bipolar. Syd Barret was schizophrenic. Thing is, don't give up.

I don't like your assumptions, I am socially apt but I never plan to get married and I know a lot of people like me.

I look around me and all I see are unhappy couples, I can not remember ever seeing a happily married couple outside of a T.V. screen. Sure some married couples are happy for the first few years but after 5 years it usually starts to fall apart. They say 50% of marriages end in divorce, now add to that the ones that want a divorce but stay together for their kids. Basically what I am saying is that most marriages are unhappy ones so why the hell would anybody in their right mind want to get married?

If we cant learn anything from the people that came before us they lived their lives in vain.

If you ask me its the crazy socially inept people that are more likely to get married.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Don't ever give up!

First you need to be happy with yourself. I know this may seem like dull advice, but a women should just be icing on the cake in your life and not the cake itself.

I'm sure being with a women is really important to you, but first you need to take care of yourself and understand thyself. You gotta a bunch of guys here that want you to succeed.

I know firsthand how hard it can be, having lived with someone with the same problem. It is important the people in your life understand what you are going through and that you ask for their friendship and help. There are many different types of schizphrenia, most of them are treatable and a lot people make full recoveries.

If your parents won't help with the med costs, try to find anyone that will. Therapy can help too. This shouldn't be a lifetime sentence of unhappiness for you.

BTW what city or state do you live in?

There are a lot of ways to manage schizophrenia these days. Some types can even be corrected with the right mix of supplements (do a search for "Pfeiffer Clinic" or "Princeton Brain Bio Center").

The meds are way better these days than before, too, but better to correct things nutritionally, if possible.

Best of luck with it. The fact you're aware of the situation is a plus, because sometimes the nature of the condition itself precludes awareness of it.

Do what you want with your life.

If you feel that what you want is to date beautiful women, and that's your urge, and that's important to you, then set goals and do it.

Define what you want and go get it. Being aware of your condition is very good, because unlike a lot of people who have disorders of some type, you know what hampers you and you know how to construct goals and plans that work for you.

and how long has mr syd barret been in an institution?
what a bad example of never giving up ...
however, what a perfect example of why a schizophrenic should never experiment with lots of acid.
