So I ask a girl out to the christmas party. I have known her from a distance on and off for about 6 weeks, not as a friend but just someone I would say hi too and know through others. We both have an interest in games design and programming so I decided to just go for it today. Throughout the conversation of about a minute I asked for the number twice, see seemed excited in how she talked but her eyes said no and she would just freeze when I asked for the number. Eventually in response to the party she comes out with.....

At this point I see (and already know) things are going nowhere so I say 'I understand, but I would have regretted not asking' (with a smile) and move to neutral topics for about 2-3 minutes. Basically I didnt get mad or anything like that, didnt make much of a deal of it at all actually. To my surprise at this point she seemed more excited in her speech than before although things were obviously going to go nowhere? I was actually just trying to be polite and close the conversation quickly but I actually had trouble getting her to stop talking now. She asked me what video games I liked to play and I took this as an opportunity to walk away (I had been looking for a break in the convo for awhile at this point). With my back turned to her walking away I said 'I dont play video games anymore I write them' to which she responded loudly in which everyone in the hall heard for sure 'thats amazing!'. I just kept walking.


I kind of assume she just liked the attention but I didnt understand her excuse. Im use to people saying their too busy, have a boyfriend or are planning to hang out with friends etc. You know, the most typical excuses. But what does 'I cant my boyfriend is the jealous kind' exactly mean? In my mind why would you even want a boyfriend who gets jealous when you are around other men?


So my questions

* what does 'I cant my boyfriend is the jealous kind' REALLY mean and how do you handle it?

* I wont see this person for at least another 3 months, Im obviously not going to hold my breath but do you think she is worth prosuing? This is all today so I havent had time to sleep on it so maybe the answer is already clear to others, in any case its certainly the most interesting conversation about video games Ive ever had with a women.

You can't be that desperate that you want sloppy seconds can you? There are plenty of single un-attached women outside of america that dig software engineers. Every single girl here in China plays games, probably every girl in Japan too. There's lots of available women, come and get one, go home and write games forever.

Why are you shying away from talking about videogames. Man I have to pull my wife off me when she comes home from work if I'm playing games. Yesterday we played (my buddy and I) Star Trek (Co-Op) all day, before that I spent 2 days on Skyrim and today I've played a bit of Gunslinger, nothing wrong with videogames or playing them, they help me relax. BTW You make games? For what company? Tell them to stop making heroes who become AFC *****es to the women.

The only reason I'm even posting in this thread is to make the point that men waste waaaay too much time analyzing women.

Thanks guys. PHM I normally dont think on threads like this but the fact that shes HAPPY with a jealous boyfriend threw me a loop. You are right though an excuse is an excuse.

Regarding other comments if I ever meet the boyfriend I would love to shake his hand and say 'Oh hi how are you, I heard your the jealous kind' LOL. Maybe I would be asking for a fight though at that lol. I actually have lost a lot of my attraction to this girl at this point, if Im not the king I could care less about it. Im really busy today but a cold approach or two would probably do me good. The great thing about a NO is it gives such a sense of freedom!

Perhaps, but I'm wondering if the girl's boyfriend is really jealous? Or does he just have a problem with her hanging out with guys like Dragon Blood, who are actually trying to get into her pants?

Women will say things like "I'm not his property" to try to justify thier hypergamous ways and putting themselves into situations where there may be temptation to cheat.

Well I said I would cold approach to get this off my mind so thats exactly what I did. The first one was with a complete stranger on the street and ended up in her scowling at me and walking away. The second person was from a different department than my own that I know to see so I stopped her in the hallway.

DB: Hey are you going to the xmas party?
HB: Oh no I couldnt Im not very good at being a social person.
DB: Not a social person? Want to go with me?
HB: Yeah ok!
DB: Come with me then, if you are going to the xmas party you have to pay now.

Its the last week to pay and ironically thats what I was doing at the time so I showed her to the admins office. So, Ive gone from nothing yesterday to a girl who has now PAID to spend time with me. It wouldnt of happened without your support guys!


Thing is, there is actually two xmas parties and I have no date for the first. Theres a girl in the office I took on a date months ago but ignored from then because she was as frigid as ice. Might try inviting her to the other party in case this new girl blows me off.


Zekko I think youve hit exactly on what Ive been trying to describe. I understand shes not into me, but why talk down your own boyfriend too? lol. Ive read the DJ bible and all that but I dont remember anything specifically off the top of my head on why girls would talk down their boyfriends with a guy they dont like?
