I work spare time as a waiter to earn some extra money. Today this happened.

I ordered a meal, but it was the wrong one (they looked the same but the customer wanted the one he wanted instead, which is of course perfectly normal and was completely my mistake).

The chef (who is 7 years younger as me, is the sous-chef but was the main chef today) told me "saywhat, next time do it right, I don't have time for this.

I agree it was busy at that time in the kitchen, not that busy, but ok...

What I answered was "yeah okay but the two meals look the same in the register" (which they do). Basically a beta answer.

Afterwards you think of the right 'alpha' answer, like 'every men makes mistakes', or just laughing it off and saying "dude seriously?".

What would you have answered?

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

It's just work, the chef already forgot about it, and you will probably never make the same mistake again. Your answer was fine, I might have said OK, no problem. I was in the industry for a long time, it is no big deal.
