"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I worked in the same hospital for three yrs now and Ive randomly seen this girl from time to time as I floated around the different floors. Never bothered talking to her and never stared at her as we'd pass in the halls...

I recently accquired a new position and it just so happens to be on the floor she works on.

First few times I talked to her I busted her balls a little and got the whole "you're such a jerk" with a smile and etc. She'd send some kino my way and Id return as much as I could (being at work and all).

Few days later she asks what Im doing that night and wants me to come out with her friends. I decline but we go to a club on that wkend. Goes great were all over each other but she got pretty tanked so Im not sure how much was the alcohol. Then I invite her to a cook out on the 3rd(few days ago) and she drives across town after work. Goes good, but she seemed kinda stand-offish.

See her at work yesterday and she gives the "call me if you want to hang out".

I was going to invite for some coffee or something like that on Fri and play it by ear.

Not sure how to handle this. She is an easy 9/10 so Im trying to not be a ***** and screw anything up.

What are things I should watch out for from her to see if things arent going good...any small signs?

Ive already read the majority of the DJ bible a while back, but thought Id ask you guys for some pointers.

What are some good ideas from you professional DJs??

thanks in advance:rockon:

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

You're overanalyzing it and probably because you're clouded by the perception of her being a "9 out of 10". The more you tip toe around with caution, the more apt you are to misinterpret her actions and react incorrectly.

Her not being able to go out on Friday because she made friends with her girls transforms into: "She must not want me, I should take the hint or start playing games with her to win her back." Then you wind up reacting and throwing another wrench in a process which should be relatively smooth.

It sounds like you're doing fine so just relax and enjoy yourself. She is a girl, just like the 6s, 7s, and 8s that you've dated. They are fundementally drawn to the same root qualities. So you can sit back and be a comfortable, confident you and you'd be putting your best foot forward.

I'd personally ask her out for Sunday night, instead of Friday. The weekend nights tend to be a busy time for people, so unless she's specificially said to you that she's not doing anything on Friday night, you're better off shooting for a Sunday.

quite true

Im trying to treat her as if she were a 6-7 so that I dont act like the douches she used to turning down lol. Since she came up to me I think you're right in that Im doing alright

Despite my first post I truly dont take anything that seriously with regards to relationships. Im out to have a good time and take it as it comes. I guess my main thing is that Id like to be hooking up with her more than once, know what I mean. From what I understand she already changed her plans so she could meet up with me at my buddies cookout. Or that was an excuse for her to say she was bringing her friend.

Thing is either way I could care less. She either goes or doesnt. Period. I dont read into stuff that deeply b/c its a lose/lose situation and a waste of time.

Itd be during the day friday to kinda feel things out. I work saturday so fri night is going to be kinda chill for me.
