A better question is: Why does a man need a relationship? There is no benefit for a man to commit to one woman forever.

LTR used to make sense if a man had leverage. In 2022, the system is doing everything it can to give the woman all the leverage it can handle and more, so it doesn't make sense. It only makes sense if there is a baby involved, and even then, the man should not commit to one woman.

I don't understand men who say "It's getting old playing the field, I want to come home to ONE woman." OK that's fair, but realize, this one woman will LEAVE you if she finds a bigger, better deal. Always always.

If I ever get married, I will tell her: "Our bank accounts are 110% separate. If we divorce, you get a Diet Coke." She should agree to that because women want to "share their lives" with someone, right?

Playing the field, spinning plates, friends with benefits....all different names for the same thing: mediocrity. One woman is about excellence, 2 persons sharing their completeness on all levels from physical to spiritual. Comparing playing the field with being with one significant other is like comparing an old beaten down Toyota to a Ferrari.

That will only happen if you try to turn a hoe into a housewife.

If this was true then why do women hesitate to sign a prenup? Why do women want spousal support? Why do woman want have the guys money upon divorce?

Women don’t care about “love” and “closeness” and “being one together forever” like the movies and music say. They only care about their image and what’s good for them.

No not all women are. You are not meeting those women. That’s all.

I think there is a case for an extended relationship without marriage and cohabitation. Those do tend to fall within the 5 year shelf life.

Some of the side benefits of relationships are evaporating for men. How many women are good at cooking? What about cleaning? A lot of women are not keen on traditional housewife duties. Additionally, if you live alone long enough as a man, you can get good at these things. If you're living alone, you can also keep a smaller place. A wife will often demand a bigger suburban house. Fucck that noise!

The primary needs in a relationship if cooking and cleaning aren't needed are:

• Sex
• Someone to bring to couples oriented social events

You can cross off the second one if you skip a lot of social events in your social circle. So then it's down to sex. Sex is difficult to replace without a relationship.

I think so. And different methods can also be beneficial at different periods in your life.
I'm an introvert, and as such I prefer one on one relationships as opposed to dealing with groups. That's not to say I can't deal with groups, but that's my preference. For me, I like the depth of getting to know someone and forging a unique way to relate to each other. And I like the agreed arrangement of at least temporarily monogamous sex. Partly because I don't like sharing a vagina with other dudes, plus it lessens the possibility of STDs. It's also nice to have someone you can rely on in a pinch, again at least on a temporary basis.

Yes, another person is only so reliable for so long of a time, but while it lasts I find a LTR rewarding. Which is not to say there aren't advantages to plate spinning, but these are related elsewhere, especially since this is a pickup forum.

Easy, a guy with a woman that behaves has more free time to build himself with the added support. Also, you can't really figure out each other's body sex wise in one to two hookups.
