I know the common belief is that you should get it every 3,000 miles, but almost every car manual recommends to do it every 5,000, some newer cars even 7,000 miles.
I read somewhere that oil breakdown doesnt start until 5,000 mark with regular oil, and over 10,000 with synthetic.
As i understand the 3,000 mile message was heavily promoted and sponsored by the oil companies, whats your take on this?
