wouldn't you say the vast majority of women who are 25-30 want a man in the same age range?

I'm not saying they would not be open to dating a man who is 10 or 12 years older but they would have a strong preference for someone within 5-10 years, no?

Yes, but implicit in this assumption is that the man 10-20 years older will look old.

If a man tends to his physicality as he ages, he will look relatively young, yet have the decisive advantage of increased wealth, status, charisma, debonairness, social and relational acuity, maturity, wisdom, worldly knowledge and experience. This type of man clearly has an advantage over his younger counterparts.
