"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I was listening to the Oldies station this afternoon when they played "He's a Rebel" by the Crystals. Boy, how accurately does this song pinpoint the true essence of what it means to be a DJ?

See the way he walks down the street
Watch the way he shuffles his feet
My, he holds his head up high
When he goes walking by
He's my guy

When he holds my hand I'm so proud
'Cause he's not just one of the crowd
My baby, oh he's the one
To try the things they've never done
Just because of that they say

He's a rebel and he'll never ever be any good
He's a rebel and he'll never ever be understood
And just because he doesn't do what everybody else does
That's no reason why I can't give him all my love
He is always good to me, always treats me tenderly
'Cause he's not a rebel, no no no
He's not a rebel, no no no, to me

If they don't like him that way,
They won't like me after today
I'll be standing right by his side, when they say

He's a rebel and he'll never ever be any good
He's a rebel 'cause he never ever does what he should
And just because he doesn't do what everybody else does
That's no reason why we can't share a love
He is always good to me, good to him I'll try to be
'Cause he's not a rebel, no no no
He's not a rebel, no no no, to me
(He's not a rebel, no no no
He's not a rebel, no no no
He's not a rebel, no no no
He's not a rebel, no no no)

"He's not just one of the crowd" really gets to me....

Don't be like those who only fit into one paticular clique; BE CLIQUE-LESS!! Be willing to jump into any group and have fun. Make jokes, listen to their interesting comments.... be them and be loved! Pretty soon, you'll have groups lining up to be with you.

Seperate yourself from others [not literally of course], which reminds me of the college admissions process. Those stuffy old guys sitting in a room, reading your apps, see the same ol' shìt every-damn-day. "I have a 3.7+ GPA, 1350+ SATI, 100+ hours of community service; please accept me." Well, chances are, depending of the exclusivity of the school, that person ain't getting in if he doens't demonstrate sometime that he/she really drives at. Alright, so one of my favorite hobbies is watching college basketball. Big whoop, right? Well, can anyone else out there say they are a profession Bracketologist and have enough balls to write it as an application essay instead of creating a list of academic skills and a little area devoted to kissing àss?!?!? Be different, and be you.

DJ's go out there and "try the things they've never done." To them, life is one mind-blowing experience after another.... and they want to be in the driver's seat! They might fail miserably, but you can bet they'll have a great time doing it and even more fun laughing their àsses off about it!!

In addition, DJ's hold their "head up high" because they are full of confidence. These guys can initiate conversations with anyone, anywhere, because they're interesting, funny, and GOOD LISTENERS. I cannot stress how important it is to be a good listener; it shows others that you really care about what's coming out of their mouth. You're showing this other person that you are interested in what they're saying. This will make them feel more comfortable around you and, sure enough, you've just made yourself a new friend. Also, confidence and trying new things go hand-and-hand.

One more important thing this demonstrates.... Girls FLIP for these type of guys!! They don't want to be chained down by some boring dude who doesn't mingle with other people; girls want a guy who can show them hundreds of different new experiences, and show them a new world of people. Hell, forget the women, I'd love to hang around with a guy like that. Watch out though, women can lose interest in a man quickly. Girls want to be along for the ride, but when the ride stops, they get off.

A person who knows how to have fun, differentiates himself from others, and isn't afraid to try and do new things....... The true meaning of being a DJ.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
