"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Yes it is true. As i found out the hard way.

There was this chick, a friend of my sister. I was into her for a pretty long time. She just ended a pretty long relationship. When she was over at our house (we both still live with our parents, my college is a 10 minute bike-ride away) we always had this nice chit-chat and we could enjoy each other. My sister kept telling me that she wasn't feeling for another relationship at all and that i just should back off. Well, stupid enough i followed her advice. Too bad i read just a few days too late that women give terrible relationship advice.

And now, it turns out that's correct. Just two weeks later she has a relation with some dumbass meathead. Only because he did not wait patient for his turn. My day was ruined when i heard it and i ended up falling asleep infront of the tv after a bunch of glasses of Scotch that night. Oh well, another lesson learned. Lessons learned the hard way aren't forgotten fast. Always look on the bright side eh?

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

don't get in the habit of drinking alone

Take comfort, brother. There are plenty of equally good fish in the sea.

Yeah, that guy is just a rebound. If you want a relationship, don't go after a girl that was recently just in a relationship.
Also... your sister may have known you were into this girl, and just told you the nice way that she wasn't interested in you.

That's what I'm guessing. If you made it clear to your sister you liked her, time passed, and she told you that, chances are she's not interested, which happens.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Yea, good points guys. I guess i just should forget about it.

Yea, that's a good advice. I normally avoid it, but i was in a very crappy mood already and a drink usually fixes that. It's very rare i do it though, and i intent to keep it that way. It's the first step to alcoholism.
