"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Last weekend I had a date with a girl I met at school who was in one of my classes during the fall semester. We scheduled it about a week in advance. This was all through IM by the way. So I gave her my # and she gave me hers. She insisted that I call her whenever I wanted. I didn't ofcourse until the day of the date.

I called her hours before our date to make sure everything was ok and she cancelled on me. She kept on insisting that we reschedule and she was REALLY REALLY sorry she couldn't go. She later left me a message saying she was really sorry and wanted to reschedule. I then asked her why she cancelled...she never gave me an answer.

Don't worry im done with her, but I am curious of why she cancelled?? She sounded happy about it when I asked to take her out and she insisted that I call her anytime if I was bored or whatever. What would make her cancel without a reason? What do you guys think?

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Let me take a wild guess on this lonely Valentine's night:

She was interested, but during the past week she probably got a better offer. Since she's a smart girl, she doesn't want to burn her bridges. So she promised you to reschedule.

Basically, if her prospect tonight doesn't work out you are in. Whether you next her right away or wait to see if her first choice will work out or not and maybe become the first choice again is up to you.

But if I were you, she definitely won't be on my priority list anymore. Nevertheless, I would do what she did: NOT burn my bridges, keep her on the backburner instead of cutting her loose completely.

personally i'd call her back the day before, so i could better increase my chances with having a date or something to do that night. Good job for your actions though, really well-played.

My thoughts that i formulated in my head when i was reading you post was the exact same as Le Parisien's. That's the thing here: most people who know whats going on get the message out first reply.

Good point about leaving her on the backburner. Now with that I should wait for her to initiate any type of rescheduling or any other dates correct?

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

This could easily have been a sh!t test. I think the fact that she offered to re-schedule demonstrates at least some interest from her; I'd say that being "done with her" and nexting already is perhaps a bit premature.

I'd also say that Le Parisien's theory is entirely possible.

" I then asked her why she cancelled...she never gave me an answer."

That's (obviously) not a good sign. My advice would be to just act cool for now, and wait for her to make the next move.

I have been playing it cool since, but I thought I read somewhere that anytime a girl ditches the first date without a very good reason the best thing to do is next her.

Another thing I should add is that when she cancelled on me she knew I was pissed. I didn't say anything mean at all, but when she told me she couldn't go I was just like "oohhh you're flaking out!! I can't believe you!!" and then she started saying how really sorry she was and I was just quiet and she asked me not to hate her. I said alright...and shes like we WILL reschedule!! I just said ok again and then we hung up. I was thinking a little later I kinda messed up by showing her I was pissed so I messaged her later and said that I shouldn't have acted the way I did and it was ok. She replied later that she was really sorry and we would reschedule **some day.**

Like I said I thought I read somewhere that I should next her and the fact that she hasn't brought up going out again since that the "some day" was just BS.

I don't care about salvaging this one, but for future reference where did I screw up? Should I had not let her know I was mad?

in the words of someone much wiser than me with women

"I don't chase em' I replace em"

Basically she "slow played you"... it's what high school football recruits do right around signing day.. say... I don't know... Missouri wants you really really bad.. they are at your house every other day, and you like them as well...

But you REALLY want to go to Texas. So you will hold off hope, that texas will give you a scholorship offer, and if they don't, you will "settle" for missouri.

Florida State is notorious for doing this, about half of their committments come in the last 48 hours before signing day, this year, including a recruit my hometown school wanted really badly

I mean in theory, she really did nothing wrong... she just liked the other guy more than she liked you.. You would probably do the same if you had a date with a HB5 and Jessica Simpson called you asking for a date, and wouldn't think twice

the question isn't how to get back at her, it's how to get girls to think of you more like she is thinking of the guy she is on the date with right now

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

ok, feel free to disagree with me, but I think your attitude is all wrong.

One thing that stands out is this:

"so I messaged her later and said that I shouldn't have acted the way I did and it was ok"

That was a big mistake and has probably blown your chances for good. It's perfectly ok to show a woman that you won't tolerate flakey behaviour and what you said on the phone was justified.
If a woman agrees to a date and flakes out, and especially if she waits until the day of the date and for YOU to phone HER before she tells you its off, then that's disrespectful. You should inform her that you won't tolerate that kinda of sh!t. Women AREN'T attracted to pushovers who they can control; if you're walking around on eggshells trying not to upset her then you won't get very far. If anything you should've been more harsh than you were... now there's no need to get angry, just let her know that you won't put up with behaviour like that.

Another mistake you made was to appologise "for the way you acted", that is absolutely not the way to go. There are several in-depth theories about why you should (almost) never appologise to a woman....but essentially, it confirms that you were in the wrong and shows you to be unsure of your decisions. Basically, it let's her know that she's the one in control and that you're willing to change your attitudes/walk on eggshells just to keep her happy. AF mother****ing C stuff. On a related note, if you give your opinion and a woman disagrees, DON'T backtrack and try to meet her half way:

you: "I love starwars, its great film"
her: "Naa, I think the plot is blah blah"
You: "thnking about it, I suppose your right.. *anythng to agree*"

WRONG! you don't want to come off like you're trying to impress her/win her favour/whatever.

Bottom line,
don't worry so much about upsetting her. Ironically, being overly tolerant and trying everyhing to keep her happy is the kiss-of-death. Do your own thing, have fun and if a woman behaves in a disrespectful way be sure not to let her get away with it.

Concerning the girl we've been talking about, based on what I've read, a NEXT is the easiest thing.

You know I agree with you on that part. The only reason I did tell her that was because a friend of mine recommended me to. I ofcourse unwillingly did it, but I will not listen to him again. As long as I know what I did wrong for next time I am ok.

What is the correct way to handle the situation? Was I doing ok until I told her that?
