A modern example is football clubs, where entrepreneurs buy teams mainly to gain favors from sponsors, avoid taxes, and make profits. It’s also a way to gain social status and political influence.
A man who understands this system can apply it in many countries. It’s a network of favors, with a public face, busy and “working for justice”, and a hidden one, where secret meetings take place. Many powerful men have ended up with these two faces.
Look like, in today’s world, some men play this game to become influential within their circle.
So they take this "political system" and apply it to their life.
There are many good, honest people who can't get high-paying jobs, precisely because they don't want to get "dirty," but maintain integrity, and look like that some others that do, lose their integrity, but gain in influence, status.
It would be interesting to discuss whether you've ever gotten "dirty," what you learned, and whether you'd do it again.
