"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Hey guys.

I wanna talk about what I consider to be the most important and overlooked aspect about being a real man.

And that is... being a real man.

You know we were not designed (by evolution, god or aliens with a hobby for cloning; take your pick) to be sitting in front of computers.

Men were designed for action and adventure.

But in modern life what was once part of every day survival (action, fear, danger, challenge, adventure, discovery etc) now needs to be sought out.

And these things that make men real men can be avoided. In fact most guys do avoid them.

In our brains when we do something new, challenging or dangerous a chemical (sorry boys I forgot the scientific name for this chemical) is released.

Now this chemical is interesting.

It makes some guys feel good. It gives em a rush of adreniline, they get a burst of hormones. As a result they do more and more exciting things, getting more and more addicted to doing challenging exciting things.

I think we can all agree that being addicted to new and exciting things is cool.

Some other dudes hate feeling this chemical. It is the feeling of stress, fear and nervousness. Every time they experience a challenge they feel real bad. As a result they avoid new things, danger and adventure and it gets harder and harder everytime they are confronted with a challenge to step up. This is called being in a rut.

The good news is that any guy can become an adreniline junky and experience the full benefits of facing challenges.

So get out and do something that will scare the **** out of you.

I was reminded of this the other night when I got involved in a high speed police chase (its a long story and I am innocent of any wrong doing). At first when the driver was like, "**** em, if they knew the situation they would back off," I was scared.

Then I let go.

"**** it." I said to myself and embraced the fear flowing though my system. It became an experience of intense exhilaration.

I realised I had fallen into a comfort zone. The things I had done for challenges had become everyday things. They were no longer giving me that rush.

It reminded me how after I had been doing something stupid in the country with a pretty bad human rights abuse record and ended up having several assault rifles pointed at me (and I thought the soldiers, who were screaming in a language I didn't understand, were likely to shoot me) I lost my fear of... well just about everything... for a while.

While I don't suggest you go to these lengths I am sure you can all agree with the benefit of, rather than feeing bad when confronted by adversity, you feel a thrill of excitement.

Embracing fear (its called "feeding the rat" in extreeme sport circles) will imporve all aspects of your life. You'll quit that dead end job, punch your sisters abusive boyfriend in the head, tell you neighbour to stop mowing his lawn at 6.30 am Saturdays... whatever aspect of your life that needs work on will not seem that hard once you make it the habit of confronting your fears.

Anyway, to what most of you guys are focussed on; chicks.

While I think this site should be about more than ****ing girls, I truly believe pushing your limits will improve you game better than any tactics ever could.

Imagine it. You've just skydived. You've faced your greatest fear; heights.

You walk into the club ten feet tall (even if you are a short arse like me). You don't give a ****! You know every other man in the room is beta to your alpha. You don't have to try. Your confidence and masculinity flow from you. You don't need to prove anything to anyone because you've just proved yourself to the only person who matters; you.

Women (and men... tho I know we are not so concerned with them...) will pick up on that vibe.

Those gorgeous girls don't intimidate you. You've just jumped out of a ****ing plane at 5000 feet! You rock! You don't need women to validate you. Approaching? Scary? You love fear!

"Hey ladies, hows it?... What you been up to?... Oh yeah?... Me? Good; I just jumped out of a plane!" Hows that for a pick up line eh?

Imagine if you could back that up with stories about african safaris, kick boxing bouts, climbing mountains etc etc.

Yes, you would seem most manly, exciting, courageous... sexy.

So guys make a commitment to yourselves to do something that would scare the **** out of you. It doesn't have to be dangerous, just challenging and different.

It could be as simple as taking your fat arse down to the gym.

For me, my next challenge is to try to do a stand up comedy show in the next few months (I feel a thrill of fear in my gut just thinking about that). I also have skydiving and scubba diving on my list of things to do for the year.

Just get out there and push yourself. Feel fear and never rest on your laurels.

Cheers.

JJ

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

This has been gone into very deeply and RSD's blueprint will talk a lot about this when it comes out. Basically what we call it in the community is "State" and this is the reason why there is such thing as the warm up sets because you do the first 3 to get in a bit of state.
