Hi.

I have REALLY dry skin, especially during winter.
If I forget to put some lotion on they sometimes bleed (yeah its that bad)

I use this lotion that I found somewhere in the bathroom...no brand. no logos, etc

What lotion is good for dry skin? Do hydrating body washes really help? I get htis itchy feeling that people get when their skin is dry ALL over my body sometimes and especially on my back where I cant scratch without looking like an idiot

thanks

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

1. Stop using that lotion immediately.
2. When you shower, what do you wash your body with? This could explain why your feeling dryness over your entire body. You could be really over doing it with the bar soap, as this dries your skin out. Try using a body wash where it comes out of a squirt bottle thingy.
3. Go to a doctor and get his opinion. If your bleeding from this dry skin theres a chance you could have egsema.

This isnt that hard to fix. Go to your local walgreens or walmart and they will have plenty of brand to choose from. I use vasaline extra strenght for dry skin but theres tons of other kinds made specificly for dry skin. You can get a big bottle for like 6 dollars.

I literarlly stand in my room naked every couple nights and moiserize from head to toe before going to bed. It will take a week or two before you get it under control.
If the skin on your face is dry, make sure you get a special lotion that is oil free and made to use on faces. If you use a normal kind of lotion for your face you may break out from it cloging your pores.

And eaglez had a good point, keep in mind that bar soaps in the shower and hand soaps to wash your hands will dry your skin out.

U can get something called Aqueous cream (in the UK anyway) that u can use instead of soap/shower gels while bathing. Have a look in a pharmacy.

Best lotion hands down is Cetiphil. Not the wash but the actual cream in a round tub. It's hypoalergenic and won't cause any of the nasty side effects of regular lotion.

Find it on any lotion isle and expect to pay about $13 for a tub.

Skip the lotions and purchase a cream instead. Cream works better at moisturizing. I put Aveeno cream on my hands 1-2 a day because my skin dries out and will crack. You can purchase it at most drug stores over the counter.

Tip when showering in the morning during the winter: Don't turn the vent fan on. Let the room get kinda steamy so when you walk out. This way, you sweat just a bit so you have some natural moisture on your face rather than the DRY and COLD 100% clean skin you're probably used to having on your face in the winter.
