The other day at the store, I noticed for sale, pure egg white. From reading the nutritional information lable, it has 0 fat and carbs, and 5 grams of protein for every 20 calories. Now this seems to me like a very good source of protein, and isn't egg protein one of the most usable forms in your body? So what do you guys think, is this a good way to get protein? (I don't want to use powders, for various reasons.)

I commonly buy Pure Egg Whites. They are THE best form of digestable protein and are in fact very cheap.

Plus you can mix them in ANYTHING and they won't affect the taste. You can put them in your protein shake. I sometimes even mix a couple tablespoons in with some cottage cheese, yogurt, or oatmeal for a protein boost.

Its much harder to digest caesin if its uncooked. You may want to cook your egg whites to maximize the absorption.

But yea, egg whites are a superior form of protein. Good stuff.

Bump. NEVER eat egg whites raw. And its not about digestion issues either (btw, egg whites are NOT casein :p) its because raw eggwhites contain enzymes which prevent the protein from being metabolized, so they must be destroyed with heat first.
