Background story:

We have been a couple for more than one year, we are both 18 years old and started university 2 months ago. Basically, the biggest problem we had in our relationship was that her parents did not approve of her dating. Every time we experience big problems in our relationship, it is because of her parents. The other problem was that I was a bit of a 'nice guy', this is because I sort of loved her since I was 14 years old and she was my first real girlfriend.

Due to the slight problem that at the start of this year, I had to move interstate to attend university, this made our relationship a little more difficult. But I will be transferring back to our home town by the end of this year, or even possibly sometime around June.

Anyway, about two weeks ago, due to parent problems again, she sort of pulled away from me, while i was in a different city. I got bored of her bullcrap and broke up with her on Friday (approx one and a half days ago at time of posting). Things seemed good, I was pretty devastated but quite relieved, but at the same time I still want us to be together.

Last night, on MSN, we thanked each other for the great times we've had together and all the things we learned from our relationship. The thing is, we are actually very compatible and we did not break up because one of us did anything wrong, there isn't really any hard feelings.

During that conversation, she sent out mixed signals, almost like she still wanted me to feel for her. She also told me that sometime last week, her parents were no longer against her dating. Now this had me thinking, since most of our problems were due to that, and we broke up pretty much due to that, and I will definitely not act like a chump anymore, getting back with her doesn't seem like such a bad idea.

My plan is that I talk to her and tell her about my ideas, that her parents wouldn't be trying to break us apart again. The relationship will basically 'start over'. We will start dating from the beginning (as i want to remove my AFC image from her mind and my mind) and just take things slowly, or however it progress this year, until I can transfer back to my university at home. I seriously love that woman, and I believe that she is good wife material once she matures a bit more. Plus my life is sort of busy and I dont think the both of us needs to be devastated by this breakup for however long it takes to get over this. If things don't work out, we can decide to end this at the end of this year or something, since we are both single now and have nobody else in mind.

What do you guys think? If you agree, do you have any advices as to how i should approach this? thanks

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
