Now the russians make such a load, in a compact auto pistol, using the same bullet that is loaded into the .30 AK rifle cartridge, but in a much shorter cartridge case, in a gun that looks a lot like a Makarov, at a mere 570 fps, for about 90 ft lbs of "power", which is a bit more than a .22 lr gets out of a 4" barreled pistol. Silenced .22's were used by the OSS in WWII, you know.. they were huge things, not all that quiet, either. 12" or so long, 44 ozs, or something like that.

I make the state of the art "cans" and if you "think" that any autopistol that cycles normally, with normal ammo, is as quiet as it can be, you are VERY ignorant about cans. there is quite a bit of noise that comes out of the ejection port, when the autoloader kicks out the fired casing.
