Did God create the sun, the universe?

Did you know that, according to a Gallup poll, one of out five people still think the sun revolves around the earth? It's a metaphor to how people want the universe to revolve around them.

That contradicts the evidence that the earth is flat. How can something revolve around the world... if the world is flat?

nice post,but why do u doubt me when i said i use to be an atheist, i was secretly for quite a while, hiding it from my family and friends but after reading and listening to what ppl have to say...well I've changed

its living a lie - rather than making the most of your life now, you wait for heaven...

how do you know its a lie. Can you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that God doesn't exist? ....and what do you mean by 'making most of your life now?'

many religous practices ag against the well being of people
- the pope tellgin people in AIDS ridden africa not to use comdoms
- kids who accidently get pregnant havign to keep a baby, even tho it will "ruin" thier lives

christians are not allowed to have sex outside marriage and condoms only 'encourage' promiscuity amongst married couples thus increasing the chances of getting STDs/AIDS. Abstinence or having one faithful partner is the only way of reducing the AIDS rate in the world not promoting the use of condoms.

I've noticed some atheists or homosexuals get angry/annoyed with people who choose to believe in a higher power, why is that?

Kingsam, how is believing in God so harmful to soceity?
