"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

My girl is pretty insecure about her body, not that she has a bad body, she's just about 10 pounds overweight, and to some this is fat. I want to get physical with her, but her insecurities surrounding her body are really preventing it. She's crazy into me. I'm sure of that from all the other high interest signals she sends me. I think she just doesn't want to get intimate because she believes I may think less of her because of her body.

So how do I diminish her insecurities? Time? Compliments?

Any ideas, gentlemen?

sookie,

Insecurities are not easy to deal with. I know this through dealing with my own insecurities as well as having relationships with some VERY insecure girls. There is no short term fix. Ideally, your girl will lose her weight. This may seem extreme, as her weight ISN'T a problem in your eyes, BUT her insecurity IS a problem in your eyes. Therefor fixing the weight issue fixes the insecurity issue.

This is no easy feat. Theres no easy way to talk to your girl about this. Because girls are not logical, they are emotional.

My advice is to find a secure girl. But I doubt this advice will be followed.

In your situation, without taking the above advice you should only attempt to initiate physical activity when shes in a top mood, in complete privacy and in a room without much lighting. Try leaving her top on, and just remove her bottoms. If shes in a skirt or dress, leave it on. The more covering she has the more secure she'll feel.

Best of luck, let me know how you do.

You don't - there is no way to deal with someone else's problems. What are you going to do - wait 6 months until she loses 10lbs before she'll take her clothes off? All women have insecurities - make you move. If she keeps rejecting you then you'll have to find another girl.
