I don't know, it seems like at some height, height matters more or less in fighting per inch added than others.

Like, I'd think that a 5'7 guy vs a 6'7 guy would have more of a chance of winning than a 4'7 guy vs a 5'7 guy. and a 5'11 guy would have more of a chance of winning vs a 6'11 guy than a 4'11 guy would vs a 5'11 guy

im talking about ufc/pride style fights btw, not boxing

hell yeah height matters, height gives u extra reach and leverage in wrestling, however if we're talking bout 1 or 2 inch difference it's negligible.

generally if you're significantly taller than average you're probably bigger and stronger but less agile as well.

so an average height and build guy can probably take on a bigger dude since he's probably more agile to make up for lack of strength and reach, but if you're really short 5'6 and under you don't have nething to make up for ur lack of strength and reach. really short guys 5'6 under aren't any quicker than an average dude that 's 5'9 or 5'10

height matters only if the two fighters have equal fighting skills

in that case the tall guy almost always wins

It depends if he is one of those quick smaller guys though. If he can get in below the taller guys center of gravity he can control him with ease. It's the same thing as when a football lineman want to get below the opponents center of gravity to move him back. It's all about getting low with good grounding.

Unless the smaller guy has a weapon and knows how to use it...or either one of them gets lucky.

Realtime fighting is a craps shoot anyway you look at it. Some one may have better odds in a fight but when it comes down to it, none of us really know what's going to happen.

It really depends on your fighting style. Obviously boxing, kickboxing etc favors those with a longer reach but when it comes to grappling it favors smaller people
