"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

I tried a bunch of cold approaches today. The first was the best.

1) Saw an attractive woman at the train station reading a paper. Wandered over and asked her something about a football match. That was enough to start. We were going in the same direction and travelled and chatted for 20 minutes.

She was an interesting woman, a few years older than me and good company. Turned out we both know the areas where each other lives, she mentioned she lives alone. There was a window of opportunity for a number close and possibly a coffee date that day but I missed it. I should have gone for it as she was good company. Oh well, it was an improvement and I nurtured good rapport out of nothing.

2) Cute Asian girl in the self help section of a bookshop. I made a remark that by the time you read all these books you wouldn't have nay time left to put it into practice. Turns out her English wasn't too hot. Chatted for a minute or two and ejected.

3) Crossing the road with a cute brunette - she looked kinda young though and Eastern European. The traffic crossing was a bit hairy. I said, "you take your life into your hand over here." She didn't hear/understand/acknowledge.

4) Going down into the Tube (subway.) Busker playing dancehall music. There was a pretty Mediterreanean girl in front of me. It would have been killer to say "excuse me, would you like to dance." But I missed the moment and settled for "wow, I figured we'd see a dance in full swing or something."

She smiled, not sure she understood. She was headig for a different platform so I didn't pursue.

5) Foreign looking girl sitting waiting for a train. I sat next to her on a bench. We observed a girl on the opposite platform lugging a massive suitcase. I said, "geez, I'm glad I don't have to lug that thing around." Not a flicker of a response from the girl on the bench. Maybe she was still bummed about the end of the cold war... Whatever.

6) Not really an approach. Waiting at a pedestrian with a young mother pushing a baby carriage. I made some remark and she laughed and we chatted a bit as we walked up.

This one was just more practice with making friendly conversation with anyone, anywhere.

Lessons learned: You can strike up a conversation and get some rapport anywhere (see 1st approach), make sure the girls you speak to understand English!

Onward.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
