One day King Akbar was getting bored, so he decided to test his courtiers.

Akbar drew a line on the floor and said, “Can anyone shorten this line without erasing the ends”.

Everyone was quiet. They didn’t know how to tell Akbar that it was impossible.

Birbal (Akbar's advisor) got up and drew a longer line below the line drawn by Akbar. He said, “Your Majesty, I have not erased the ends of the original line. Still, the original line is now shorter.”

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.

Interesting!

By drawing a new (longer, more significant) line in the present.. the past soon seems much shorter (less significant to your current mindset, etc.).
