"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

For most of us, negative thoughts affect a lot of what we do. We over-analyze a situation we feel intimidated by before it has even happened, simply because we are scared of failure. We dread the feeling of dissappointment or rejection that comes from a failed approach. How many times have you thought of approaching only to have negative thoughts swarming around in your head. You try to build up the courage to make a move, and soon enough the opportunity passes, only to leave you feeling regret and frustration.

'Failure' is the fact of not achieving the desired end, of falling short. But just because we fall short of what we set out to achieve doesn't mean we can't benefit from the situation. Lessons can be learned in everything we do, our success AND failures!

Do you ever find yourself thinking:
What if i get shot down?
What if she laughs at me?
What if she already has a boyfriend?
What if i run out of things to say?
What if my C&F lines dont work?
What if they dont like me?
What if I make a fool out of myself?
What if... ?

The next time you find yourself thinking about what might go wrong, STOP!! By thinking negatively you are only setting yourself up for failure. What you should be thinking is 'Hey, who knows what will happen. I should just stop thinking about it and make the best out of the situation.'

Using this mentality will put you in a positive frame of mind and boost your confidence. Think back to the last time you felt like you were bullet proof, like nothing would get in the way of getting that babe. Did you think about all the things that might go wrong, and how bad it would feel to be rejected if your DJ moves failed? Probably not. You were too busy checking out her ass! :D

This is the mentality behind the 3 second rule. By forcing yourself to do the approach, it eliminates the possibility of thinking any negative outcomes.

This approach can also be applied to anyone who has low self confidence, or is intimidated by social situations. Try it next time you are in a situation where you feel scared of failure or rejection. Just think 'Screw it, i might as well give it all i've got'. And if things dont turn out too good, atleast you tried which is more than a lot of people!

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
