Anyone have any recommendations?

I need a change massively im stuck in a rut. I work as a manager at a supermarket n i could not be more unhappy. Im 25 btw.

I have not got the savings just to quit otherwise i would.

The only advice i ever see is do something your interested in. But the slight problem is i ve only ever been interested in two things. The military & football (soccer).

But A. i have a lazy eye (glasses dont improve sight) so the military route was a no go and B. obviously everyone wants to play sport n get paid millions haha.

Honestly dont know where to start so thought a few books might help.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I don't have any recommendations because I keep finding myself in the same loop too. Get a job, commit to it in my head for a while, quit much earlier than I anticipated, rinse and repeat. I'm about to take a job in insurance sales for about $40,000 a year. That offers a decent standard of living in central Florida - the only problem is I'll hate it just like the 4 years I did in wireless sales. I've been able to leave crappy jobs on short notice because I have some cash put away, but not for much longer because I also have the debt that cancels it out.

There might be some good motivation books out there, but very few will actually tell you how to carve a new path. Because if there was a "way" to get rich, the person who disclosed it to the world in book form would be the richest author ever. And they're not going to tell you on a podcast or in an interview, or even in a book they'll sell for $20. NOW, people like Mark Cuban do offer phone counseling for $10,000 an hour. In THAT case, you're probably getting hard, detailed, substantive insider material. Otherwise, it's just pure fluff.

So, there really is no blueprint for everyone, but in my opinion there are 4 ways to defy the odds.

1. Inherit it (all chance) - 1% chance

2. Win the lottery (all luck) - 0.0000000001% chance

3. Be so great at something (like a sport) that a corporation has no choice but to offer you a lucrative contract to do it - 0.001% chance

4. Be good enough at something, and dedicate your entire existence to learning how to market it - <5% chance to pull it off

Let's clarify one thing - the vast majority of us to not have options 1-3. They are just the main ways in which other people got rich. Option 4 is the only way for people like you and me. The problem is the amount of time, effort, and commitment it takes to start a business or launch an idea can very rarely co-exist with a full-time job. A few blowhards on this forum will tell you how they've banged 250 women and run a successful business (without any pictures of these girls or link to a website) all while working a full time job, but don't be fooled.

Not only does it take an immense amount of intestinal fortitude to risk everything to try to start a product or service (even if you had all the spare time in the world), but the amount of energy you have to put into a 40 hr workweek (or more) does not allow you enough time to build your brand with whats leftover. You're tired as hell when you get home and still have to spend the remainder of your time doing errands. Life just flies by, and 5-10 years later your "idea" is totally obsolete. Even this scenario isn't likely, but it's your best shot. Maybe you can cut expenses down to $800 a month and only work 20 hours a week, which will free up enough time to pursue your goal???

I don't know what the answer is. But what I can tell you is don't be a sucker for self-help gurus who claim to have the answer. Do not buy books from frauds like Corey Wayne, Tony Robbins, or Brian Tracy. These "life coaches" charge obscene amounts of money to offer vague cliches with no meat and potatoes. They don't even have a product. Their product is giving people like you and me a rah-rah-rah speech, so be careful bud.

Good luck.

Regarding option 2: I do envy people who win a lottery so to speak, not a government lottery but the people who invested in Bitcoin at $0.10 a coin in 2011 for example, and one coin is now worth $1,000. These people are set for life and they did it on a good business investment, not a scratchoff.

And I'd like to hear @Tenacity 's input on this again.
