Weight-lifting sense of strength in fighting means nothing, heavy weight lifters just look intimidating, but they lack endurance, speed and flexablity and would get ripped in seconds by someone who doesn't pick up weights, but does pushups pullups and does somekind of cardio. I've personally seen huge ass guys, that benched **** load and couldnt do one pullup. There are different types of strengths.

It's true that the bench press doesn't matter **** but weight lifting should be part of the training of any athlete, including (or especially) fighters.
