There was this one woman I dated, told me her dating history a bit about how she had some "Boomerang" guys texting her out of the blue.

"Boomerang" meaning they get your number, call you, or text you, then falling off the face of the planet for a couple of weeks to a month, then...text you again as if nothing has ever occurred between before and just now.

Is one man's "Plate Spinning" another woman's "Boomerang dude"?

In a word, no.

A boomerang is a guy or a girl that you slept or sleep with, and ignore him or her after you have sex, only to have them comeback for more without you making any effort. Like a boomerang, you throw it away, but it always comes back to you.

Plate-spinning is having multiple partners and making an effort to keep them spinning as proverbial plates. Coined as a metaphor from the circus act.

If you're still confused, think of the two activities in literal terms: throwing a boomerang and spinning a plate / plates. A plate will not keep spinning by itself, where a boomerang will come back by itself.

I would say it is probably more a case of a guy who tried to set up some dates, got flakedon and then ghosted for a month or two and is then trying again.

The only reason a guy would "fall off the face of the earth," is if her behaviour was flaky.
