Were given yesterday to Rio olympic winners by Russian government, this is in addition to cash price of $180,000 $90,000 and $45,000 for silver and bronze without tax. In USA cash price is $25,000 minus the tax (I believe 30%). Best country to be an athlete is Malaysia, where gold medal winner gets a solid gold bar worth about $600,000, silver and bronze medal winners get $300,000 and $150,000. Second best country is Singapore where gold medalist get $757,000 - but I don't know of any recent Singapore and Malaysia winners.
So anyway, $25,000 for gold minus the tax, (nothing for silver and bronze I think), VS. nice new car and a lot of cash without tax.
You can sell the car and buy an apartment and invest money into business that will feed you for the rest of your life.
