Do you guys invest in Bitcoin? Apparently governments hate it. In Canada banks don’t allow you to buy on exchanges via MasterCard or Visa.

Thoughts?

I had some, sold it at a profit but could have made more. Of course governments hate it. Currencies don't need a government to exist, in spite of their continued insistence that currency be regulated. All you need is Party A, Party B, and an agreed price and exchange. Simple, no?

Of course government hates anything that takes power from it. There is a hard reset coming at some point, when it happens I bet there are going to be more currencies and methods of payment than we have now. I seriously doubt that governments will be able to stop this from happening. The commerce dept is the most worthless dept in our government, ask yourself this question if the commerce dept did not exist would commerce end, no individuals and companies would still go on doing business with each other.

This would be impossible to enforce as stated in the article multiple times.

Most of the world still doesn't seem to understand what decentralized means but we're getting there.

There's already a crypto called tether that's pegged to the US dollar for more liquid transactions online.

Rather the govt should regulate the exchanges to keep them legitimate and make serious bank.

The Reserve is the printer and ink they use to crank out more bills as desired. One big difference between junk penny stocks and real exchange listed stocks is that the latter is very regulated on diluting shareholder ownership. Penny stocks just keep cranking out more shares to whoever will buy them, diluting the ownership of existing shareholders...which is just about how the US dollar works.

They don't seem to mind too much when the regulated stocks borrow money from the money printers to reverse dilute said stocks so the CEO's get a huge bonus after their regulated shares shoot up due to manipulated EPS.

Reverse dilution is where most of the Trump tax cuts went, straight into the pockets of the richest people. Giving corporations more money does not make them invest that money in creating jobs. They just pay off their debts to the rich.

the rule about goverments are always, if they can't control they ban, you can bet you ass they will start to accept, with some countrys do, when they start to control then, and take note one part to control, is to accept then, so as long they don't accept, you are free, be wary when they accept, because on that moment they will tax it in some way, or force you to declare it

Stock buy backs to inflate stock prices by diluting EPS has been going on long before Trump.
Sure, buy backs are always bullish. Cutting corporate taxes so that they can do more buy backs is great for stock price. And 90+ percent of that greatness goes to make the rich richer. That's the point of our economic system, enriching the current power structure.

Crypto is starting to seem like the future to me. The fact that they can't just go out and print a sh!tload of it means that it can actually hold it's value (in theory). The fed is capable of printing a massive amount of money at any moment to pay off debts, and that will demolish the savings of anyone who holds their wealth in actual dollars, this is what destroyed venezuela and we have a bunch of idiot socialists in power now who would likely resort to that once they figured out they couldn't steal all the rich people's money to fund their stupid ideas.
