I just placed a huge wager on imawildandcrazyguy. If this was a regular allowence race he would be 3 to 1.. he finished a half a length behind the fav Curlin (who I think will actually win) in the Derby, and was at least 5-6 wide the entire trip, and didn't go to the Preakness, so he's fresher.. i was watching the tote board since this morning and he was HAMMERED down from 20 to 1 to 7 to 1.. seems like I'm not the only one with that in mind. he's bred to go a route of ground as well.

I like Curlin, I think he will win, but picking winners and making money are two different things when it comes to handicapping... there are too many questions to take curlin at 6-5, distance, is he tired... I think he will, but I can't take 6-5....

update:

best race I have seen all year. I actually did a little bit (by litteraly a couple of dollars) better than breaking even.. I had imawildandcrazyguy HEAVY, but I also liked Rag's, and I hated hard spun, so the only logical play besides imawildandcrazyguy was rags/curlin excta box, with tiago/imawildandcrazyguy on the bottom. might have been the easiest race to handicap in a while, but I was trying to hit a homerun, and if hard spun would have done what he was supposed to, he might have, they went the half in :50 that took Tiago and imawildandcrazyguy out the race.

Larry Jones (trainer of hard spun) keeps trying to rate (means hold back) an unrateable horse. hands down the fastest 3YO in the country, he breezed 5F in less then 58 seconds before the derby.. under 1 minute flat is considered a top quality horse. I figured this was the race that he would actually go to the front and press the issue. but no, dumbass trainer. Anyway, it was a hell of a race
