So I'm currently in the process of growing out a beard. Due to me being previously in the military I've always been close shave day in and day out. Wanted to change things up, do you any of you have suggestions for a style that looks best? In my early 30's, due have to look presentable at work (not sure if I should pick up a different type of razor to sculpt it)?

I trim mine to look like this

use a "buzz cutter" to trim the beard & sides to all the same length to keep it neat, then a razor on the clean areas.
It's a good style as it makes your jawline look stronger.

There is no one-size-fits all facial hair pattern. It all depends on your jaw line, cheek bones etc. Some people look better clean shaven and others look better with various facial hair arrangements. If you sent pics we might be able to give constructive criticism but it's impossible to know what beard would look best on you without knowing what your face looks like.
