"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Muhammed Ali:

"My face is so pretty, you don't see a scar, which proves I'm the king of the ring by far.”

“I’m the prettiest thing that ever put on boxing gloves.”

“Boxing’s a rough sport. After every fight I rush to the mirror to make sure I’m presentable.”

“I’m so beautiful I should be chiseled in gold.”

“He’s too ugly to be the world’s champ! The world’s champ should be pretty like me!” [Before fighting Sonny Liston]

“When I’m dancin’ and runnin’ I’m looking pretty and winnin’ but I ain’t hurtin’.”

“This face is worth billions.”

The greatest heavyweight boxer who ever lived continuously bragged about how feminine he looked. This is not a new trend. I’ve noticed that most girls want more than anything “a good looking rebel, who plays by his own rules.”

Being the type of guy who is control of his life and plays by his own rules will do well. (Basically what is advocated on this site) They will do better than AFC’s and even pretty boy metrosexual AFC’s.

But if you are a DJ who is acts masculine and takes no $hit, and happens to have a pretty face, you will be unstoppable.

If you have took a Vin Diesel look-a-like who had ‘game’ and put him up against a Brad Pitt look-a-like who had ‘game’, the Brad Pitt guy would win hands down in a majority of the cases.

Most people who attack the ‘pretty boys’ are people who could not possible be that person, so they pretend that they wouldn’t want to anyway. Don’t let envy cloud you from the truth.

[note: please do not derail this thread with battles of evolution vs. creationism. If you this is what you are going to debate, start a new fvcking thread]

In terms of evolution this also makes sense. If a girl was attracted to the entirely masculine man (eg. a Vin Diesel) she would have male children who would be able to secure mating rights; but she would have female children who are ugly as sin and nobody would want.

If she were attracted to the ‘Pretty boy & masculine guy’ she would have attractive sons & daughters.

Therefore the more females are attracted to the ‘Pretty boy & masculine acting’ guy the more likely there gene pool is to survive. Eventually almost all females who survive have this tendency.

Oh yeah, one more thing. I really like Muhammad Ali. I mean, I have to respect someone who is almost as pretty as I am.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

there is alot of truth to that statement. The "cleaner" look doesn't really work for people with rounder-ish heads, thin lips and cabbage noses, scruffy light brown hair, etc.

Because I have dark brown hair and blue eyes, bigger lips and a more narrow nose, a softer, less flawed face and blonde highlights really do wonders for my appearance (though I definitely wouldn't say I look pretty or feminine). On the other hand, people with more.... "ape-ish" or "animal" type heads should probably go au-naturel.

What do you mean Brad Pitt will win?? they are not competing with each other over one woman. If both of them have game then they will attract different women and lots of women. Iv'e seen guys as ugly as sin bag as much or more so then the so called "pretty boys". A woman does not think "Hmm I better pick Brat over Vin because I am looking for better looking children" rather she is thinking " hmm Vin is making me feel hotter then Brad".

Its how guys make them feel on the inside that counts the most. Yes you are in advantage in the looks department but that does not mean guys who don''t have the best looks cannot get many other women who are way hotter then the single one woman who just rejected them for the pretty boy. Same goes for the pretty boy: not every woman will want to date him. It might be easier for him to get the foot in the door but the rest is pure game.

Good looks are a preference not a prerequisite for woman choosing men. Looks are only a small part of your arsenal.

In my opinion, if I stooped down to wearing pink shirts, grew my hair out and got some highlights, and all that other metro sh!t, I could pull the "pretty boy", "feminine man" look off. You can look at the photos in my signature and be the judge of whether or not I'm right.

Why don't I do it? I look great in whatever I chose to wear, be it jeans and a shirt, or a suit, or a simple t shirt.

So why would I go all out metro? It's beneath me to do that sh!t. I don't need to dress feminine in order to attract women. I don't need to get highlights in order to look good. I don't need to wear the latest fashion trends in order to have style. I don't have to resort to following some "pretty boy" trend in order to be successful at what I do.

I don't follow trends like a lemming, I'm my own person.

MindOverMatter:

I fully agree that the trendiness to looking ‘pretty’ (metro) is stupid. It is very gimmicky, and hopefully it will become what trucker hats are: lame and played out.

I wrote my original post to highlight the real idea: attractiveness is not a fully female quality. That is why I posted Ali quotes from 40 years ago, to show that this idea isn’t just some current fad. Men can take pride in their appearance without being feminine.

Too many people on this forum are being led to believe that qualities like: nice teeth, healthy skin, good sense of style, etc, are attractive female qualities. The reality is that they are qualities of an attractive human being, male or female.

The fault in this logic is to view everything as polar opposites (male and female). Eg. “If girls look pretty, then real men MUST look like they got hit in the face with a frying pan.”

It is similar to the nice guy vs. jerk dilemma. Once you understand what the desirable qualities are in both of these you can become a hybrid of the two (the Great Guy) and become better than both of them.

No not that, what I mean by pretty boy is someone that wears all the latest fashion trends (even if they are somewhat feminine) because it is the IN thing to do, uses creams, lotions, make up, nail polish, waxes himself, gets manicures, gets highlights or worse wants to have his hair look like this http://www.sosuave.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76462 .

To me that's feminine behaviour. And I'll go as far as to say that most people who are proud of having the "pretty boy" image are deep down very insecure about their appearance, and do all this sh!t because they keep seeing an ugly person everytime they look in the mirror.

p.s. Ali wasn't an actual pretty boy, he just talked like he was one. I don't think you'd see Ali using Oil of Olay because his skin was dry lol. If you listen to him speak, you get an awesome example of C&F

I think that is where most of the confusion lies in what the ‘definition’ is of pretty boy. I’ve seen people say ‘hey look at that pretty boy f.ag over there’, pointing to a guy who is a James Dean look-a-like. These people are attacking out of envy, which is insecure and stupid.

However, if you say ‘hey look at that pretty boy f.ag over there’, and the guy is wearing a pink shirt and has painted finger nails, then that is funny and true.

Actually in one of his interviews Ali was asked why he always mentioned how pretty he was. Ali admitted that as a kid he watched pro wrestling and one wrestler named "Gorgeous George" was always saying how pretty he was and that caused the audience to have a negative but big reaction to him. Ali saw how succesful was the gimmic and he decided to incorporate that into his own act.

http://tew.wrestlingencyclopedia.com/top100-4.html
As word of his new character spread, Gorgeous George was recruited to Los Angeles by promoter Johnny Doyle, where George decided to take even greater steps to promote his new identity. He dyed his hair a platinum-blonde color, and grew it out so long that he would be able to pin back his curls in gold-plated bobby pins (which he subsequently deemed “Georgie pins” while distributing them to the audience) . Furthermore, he transformed his ring entrance into a bona-fide spectacle that would often take up more time than his actual matches. He was the first wrestler to really utilize entrance music, as he strolled nobly to the ring to the sounds of “Pomp and Circumstance” long before Randy Savage would adopt the same tune during the 1980’s. Wearing an elegant royal blue robe sporting an array of sequins, Gorgeous George was always escorted by his ring valet, “Jeffries,” who would carry a silver mirror while spreading rose pedals at his feet across a red carpet that was laid down the aisle) . Then, while George removed his robe at a painfully slow pace, Jeffries would spray the ring (and sometimes the opponent!) with disinfectant (which reportedly consisted of Chanel No. 5 perfume). Moreover, George required that his valets spray the referee’s hands before the official was allowed to check him for any illegal objects prior to the start of the match, which thus prompted his now-famous outcry “Get your filthy hands off me!”
So basically Ali took the acting gimmic of a guy who famous for having feminine traits while being a wrestler. That is why Gorgeous George was so famous because people hated him for being so feminine and acting like an arrogent prick. Ali himself was very masculine man with masculine traits and therefore when he mentioned how pretty he was everyone loved him.

Also modern time wrestling had the same thing. Think the old Lex Lugar character Vs The Rock. One acted like a primadonna with feathers and mirror and was hated, the other acted muscline and loved while both were arrogant regarding their looks.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
