Master Don Juan
Today we hear about narcissists, manipulators, toxic people, toxic parents, toxic families, opportunistic friends, etc...furthermore, we need to earn respect, we need to stop being good "nice" guys. We need to recognize red flags, disrespect...
We hear it from psychologists, the media...people..."we need therapy" to recover our unresolved traumas.
So do we all have traumas? Do we all need therapy? or are we actually living in the biggest era of the brainwashing?
Although there may be minorities and small percentages of people with disorders, it's as if everyone should go to therapy, always and in any case. We all need to overcome our traumas, and it's as if each of us had some trauma caused by our "narcissistic" family, or our "toxic" parents, partner.
One important thing they don't really consider nor mention, is that we know that everyone has their own culture, subculture, and traditions. Traditions are a jumble of "clichés" and "sayings and proverbs." and traditions differ from each other.
You could say that in some cultures and subcultures, most human interactions are based on " temporarely disrespecting" others to create humor and joke. You make fun of someone, but you do it for fun and to create humor and make laugh, create a connection.
(Comedy itself is based on drama, and drama usually happens to the interlocutor or to other people).
And you can see this works but is seen as disrespectful in many cultures, while in some others it create comedy right?
What do you think of this epidemic of "mind" and "wellness" experts telling you to cut off contact with your family and toxic members because it could damage your health?
