Hi, I was just wondering if anyone here has run in a marathon or half-marathon. There is a 10-mile race in October that I'm thinking of signing up for. I think it will be good to have an actual goal to work towards. Currently, I'm running a lot, but I'm not really focused on one objective.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I ran a sprint-distance crosscountry triathlon a couple years back. Used to do 10-mile runs regularly in the Corps. What do you need to know, specifically? I might be able to help. Also, there are plenty of websites about endurance training.

I've started jogging in the last couple of weeks and I'd be interested in starting a "bootcamp" style thread - perhaps several of us could find 5mile/10 mile/half marathons to run and support each other. Anyone up for it?

(Although I'm NOWHERE near that fit yet! But I could do with a goal, definately!)

I went jogging the other day and about went into cardiac arrest. I thought I was gonna fvcking die.

It amazes me how quick you can fall out of shape. I smoke when I drink, so this doesn't help. I'm working on getting back into the prime shape I'm accustomed to. Good luck w/ the marathon AC.

Hey

It's good stuff man, the Army bred me to run marathon-like distances no prob. If you need advice or whatever, feel free to ask, I've got 6 years airborne infantry to back me up lol.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
