Age of consent (UK)

Hey just wanted to clarify on the age of consent in the UK. It's 16 right? Does that mean an adult (whatever his age) can have sex with a 16+ year old?

Other question is, were you to have a chance with a 16/17 year old girl? Would you be comfortable with going forward? Also, how old are you?
 

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

I'm not sure about the legality, never really fully understood the meaning of age of consent laws. I mean it's 14 in some civilized places, and I can't imagine a 40 year old ****ing a 14 year old is perfectly legal?

Well, you didn't tell us your age. If I were around 18, I see no problem with that. Around 20, I would say that's pushing it. Depends on a lot of things, but probably not. Over 20, I definitely wouldn't. Just my opinion though - I have seen cases where 25+ year old guys started dating girls just finishing high school and so far they seem quite happy.

There's usually big double standards with this stuff. A woman who fvcks a teenage boy gets let off the hook. But a man who bangs a teenage girl gets labeled a sex offender or pedophile.

I think if the other person is within a certain range, say 14 to 18(numbers out of the air but u get the idea) then its legal otherwise perhaps no.

I'm 22 btw. I'm pretty sure it's legal with the UK case but still feels odd, so wanted ppls opinions. I'd be temted by a 17yr old though.
