"Women's town" to put men in their place

BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese tourism authorities are seeking investment to build a novel concept attraction -- the world's first "women's town," where men get punished for disobedience, an official said Thursday.

The 2.3-square-km Longshuihu village in the Shuangqiao district of Chongqing municipality, also known as "women's town," was based on the local traditional concept of "women rule and men obey," a tourism official told Reuters.

"Traditional women dominate and men have to be obedient in the areas of Sichuan province and Chongqing, and now we are using it as an idea to attract tourists and boost tourism," the official, surname Li, said by telephone.

The tourism bureau planned to invest between 200 million yuan ($26 million) and 300 million yuan in infrastructure, roads and buildings, Li said.

"We welcome investors from overseas and nationwide to invest in our project," he added.

The motto of the new town would be "women never make mistakes, and men can never refuse women's requests," Chinese media have reported.

When tour groups enter the town, female tourists would play the dominant role when shopping or choosing a place to stay, and a disobedient man would be punished by "kneeling on an uneven board" or washing dishes in restaurant, media reports said.

The project, begun in the end of 2005, was expected to take three to five years to finish.

Asians (Japs in particular, chinese too) are very AFC. It is embedded in their culture. If you ever watched jap porn and titles they have for them, you'd know what I'm talking about.

The thing that is embedded in Asian cultures is the fact that feminism does not exist to any meaningful level in those countries. Asian men are AFC to Westerners only because perhaps Asians may experience a problem dealing with the independent, post feminist Western women. Back to the article, most countries in Asia is sexist. When I mean sexist, they mean that they expect women to do their roles like take care of children, cook, clean and stay home. They don't mind women having jobs but they still expect women to behave that way. It's really sad to see all the american cr*p like Sex and City being broadcasted and causing more ppl to get brainwashed. Few years ago this idea would have been shot down in China. I dunno though guess China is the first Asian country that turned AFC.

Well, "sexism" has gotten a bad name in the West. But, isn't Nature sexist? Didn't it create us physically and behaviorally different (sexual dimorphism) - with different strengths and weaknesses? And wouldn't the most successful relationships and societies take advantage of these differences? Sexism evolved because it's what worked best for millions of years...

This country progressed the most under this natural sexism by forming strong families with efficient role specialization and division of labor. But what happened to our country as 2nd-wave feminism worked to reverse this sexism? We are now $9 trillion in debt and 2-parent families are becoming freaks of nature! All this in just the last 50 years!

Meanwhile, Asia continues to make great gains by sticking to stable 2-parent families with Men shouldering the burdens as protective providers and women as supportive nurturers. Strong homes create a strong society.

So, the proof is in the pudding. Feminism destroys social stability. Natural sexism supports it. Too bad China is now following our footsteps to self-destruction like the West...they may think it's "progress," but a quick look at the direction our country has gone in shows the opposite.

I answered it. If someone looked at me and made either of those statements I would view them EQUALLY as delusional and moronic. I don't see one statement as being any better or worse than the other. Both are radical statements and I find ALL radical ranting to be ridiculous.

Sadly, there are some women AND men who would agree with one of the statements...and anyone who does suffers from deluded, irrational and radical thinking...and are bug sheeit crazy. I really don't know how I can be more clear on where I stand than that.

I totally agree, great post~ Thank god someone's not a moron on this forum and actually "gets it." Of course some asian men seems to be "AFC" since they would buy gifts for thier wives to show they're affection, what Westerners have to realize that they do that maybe once a year to surprise their wives because they love them and to reward them for being loyal and doing their duty. It's sad to see that more and more business men are spending money on young escorts and buying relationships though, the number has increased and I totally blame Hollywood.

If you look at successful empires like Spartans and Romans you can tell that they had great family relationship and the kids grew up in a healthy and "NATURAL" enviroment, where the men and women did their role. This is very important to the child, since they become the role-model. If they grow up in a broken family, it's more likely for them to develop psychological problems since they didn't get the adaqute social education. Why do you think crime rates are high in ghettos and bad neighborhoods? Because kids grow up in single parent homes or with abusive parents, so they grow up to become criminals themselves.

USA used to have a great family system and value, I totally wish they went back to pre WWII where the men was the head of the household and was brave, while the wife took care of the kids and held the family together. Ever since WWII and women got more rights and the rise of feminism, divorce rates has increased and there have been more broken families. It is influencing American culture too, people are more selfish and don't care if their neighbor or stranger was getting hurt and need their help. I've saw this happen on public buses and trains all the time, an elderly would get on but noone would stand up and give her/him the seat. In Japan or Italy even the other adults would get up and offer the elderly a seat.
