Genetics has sweet fuk all to do with it.
I have no respect for fat people.
This x1000

People eat way too many empty calories. I rarely ever eat anything with sugar in it. Fat people choose to be fat.

This is it.

And on a deeper level its that women simply don't care to please men in any way, shape or form as a whole unless there is something in it for them. This is why the wealthier women stay slim...they understand the consequences of getting fat...the end of their lexus sc430 payments, end of lifestyle. Women married to a wealthy man know a rich man always has options, so they stay thin and keep the blow jobs coming.

I agree. Well said, Burr.
And add in the feminist BS that has brainwashed women into believing that they can "have it all" and do whatever they like without adverse consequences .
Compulsive eating of sugar laden food is a natural flow-on from being raised to believe that you are entitled to do whatever you want, and eat the foods that you like rather that what your body needs.

Also, as Fuglydude pointed out, poor people are more likely to buy fast food because it's all they can afford, or because they have less time to cook because of long work hours plus having to clean the house, take care of the kids themselves, etc.
.
I would dispute all of that.
Processed food and junk food, per unit weight, is way more more expensive than the cost of the raw ingredients. Purchasing drive-thru food instead of preparing family dinners is a choice made out of ignorance, indifference to one's health and most of all, pure laziness.

Prior generations managed to raise and educate large families on one income, good parental responsibility and mom's home cooking.

It's all about what's on the inside that counts, right? Men are all just shallow, they can't get past the superficial surface and love the beautiful woman on the inside of that 300+ pound shell. If only they were man enough to love the real woman inside. It's all men's fault anyway for making women feel physically inadequate with their impossibly high standards. Women should just love their bodies as they are. It must be their professionalism and independence that men find so threatening that they have to degrade women's appearances to keep power over them. I feel sorry for men like that. They should all see an empowered woman for what she is and be immediately attracted to her by no other criteria than the virtue of her independence, intellect and business savvy.

I think women deserve the same level of respect that they give to themselves. It's only fair.

You can eat carbs just fine and not get fat. Stop being ignorant if your'e gonna be on a high horse.

I had 3 twinkies last week and stuffed myself with McDonald's one night. I eat carbs and some sugary foods probably every day. I also dropped 2 pounds last week and managed 200g of protein every day. That's 2 more pounds than I dropped in the entirety of my first 'low-carb diet.'

There's no question about that, although I know a lot of people who work 60 hour weeks or more. I'm sure there's a temptation to take some shortcuts, however harmful.

I guess you're suggesting that women return to their traditional role of housewife, so that they can prepare healthy home cooked meals. I'm sure that would solve a lot of problems, but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

Whether or not it is practical to return to one income households is an interesting question. The economy today is not the same as it was in the 50s and prior. Health insurance and health care is far more expensive now, for instance. A lot of people would have to lower their standard of living. Of course, it could be argued that people don't need cable TV, multiple car households, luxurious houses, etc.

A key thing is that most people view their SELF WORTH by what they own. I know three couples who spent a hundred grand+ remodeling a kitchen with the latest appliances, Viking etc and THEY DON'T EVEN COOK. In all three cases it was the women who pressured the husband to take out a loan to do so. Keeping up with the jones. Too funny.

Jophil is right, buying healthy foods brown rice, beans, legumes..high in protein and fiber low in fat is downright cheap...you could feed an army. But you have to have the will to do so. And most women (men as well) have lost the will to do much of anything.

First off, I presume you are male. More muscle mass, higher metabolism and less general tendecy for sugary calories to turn into fat.

Different for a woman methinks.

But hey mate, you keep on keeping on, stuff those twinkies and mcdonalds down your gizzard to the cows come home if it makes you feel better.

Food fight: one girl’s struggle

At nearly 300 pounds, this 23-year-old knows she has a problem. She didn’t know how to solve it. Her family staged a real-life intervention with the help of an addiction expert. NBC’s Lester Holt shares their story.

Also, junk food + sedentary lifestyle + slow metabolism = massive weight gain. ;)

Take a look at some of these pictures:

How on earth can you let yourself go like this after being skinny/normal size in your late teens, early 20's?! For women it's their look’s that is their biggest asset, you think if you started out good in the gene department that you won't throw it all way like this and decrease your chances of finding a good catch.

Yes I agree with what you said and its more common too. One girl I knew in high school was the class hoe. Looked awesome and was the ultimate party girl midway through college. She got knocked up by some guy then got depressed about it and now she tops out about 185.

That is also the scary thing about getting married and having kids. I have witnessed far too many married women just simply let themselves go a few years into the marriage or right after popping the first kid because they simply just don't give a damn anymore. Fat women know their husband's are either too wimpy to go after other women or won't divorce them because the cost will be too high to bear.

Very true, but some of those guys I bet are getting action on the side without the wife's knowledge because as you say the cost will be too high to bear.

WE may never see traditional roles, ever again.Who knows.
However , cooking meals at home is not difficult .
Married folks, singles, families are all free to prepare their own food, eat out or send out . It is simply a matter of choice.

You're right, of course.
However, we were discussing why poor people tend to be fatter than wealthy people. I have to think a big part of this must be that poor people are more likely to need to have both spouses working, so they are more likely to pick up fast food. Because they are tired, or short of time, or whatever.

The education level could also be a factor, but if you don't know what healthy food choices are in this day and age, you must be living under a rock.

Many people are living under a rock effectively, addicted to television and mainstream media as their sources of information.

I think another factor in weight loss in where you shop. In my experience both rich and poor folks are overworked and short of time..the difference? Rich folks are able to shop at Whole Foods to pick up their quick meals while the poor go to KFC or Burger King.

An added element is peer pressure, if you are rich you have to maintain the standards of your peers. Go to any upscale mall, see the women that are walking around, huge emeralds and sapphire jewelry, Bentleys, Ferraris, Healthclub memberships out the a$$, botox. If you are a rich trophy wife you have standards to maintain and those standards are set by your peers.

Jennifer Aniston has 3 skin care specialists for her face. That's probably 100K a year she pays each. And she's 42 years old. An ordinary women cannot compete with that...however eating right and staying fit is something everyone can do.

It's weird because there are more gyms around than ever, more books, articles, products, and awareness about losing weight than ever. Yet somehow, the number of fat people keeps increasing.
Because those gyms, books and products are not written to help people lose fat. It's to make them feel good about themselves, so that they can be milked for more money.

What do all of those BS diets and exercise plans have in common? They don't require any hard work or discipline.

That was hilarious....
It immediately made me think of Jack Nicholson...

"Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here. "

Now I'm ready for work!

DJDamage, sorry but I felt I had to respond to this comment you posted on Roissy's blog about this same set of before & after pics:

Ever notice on Facebook, when ever an average/fugly/fat chick post’s her picture you have like ten women (only women) chime in with their comments under the picture saying stuff like “HOT!” “you’re so pretty!” “damn you look good” when in fact she isn’t?!

Are women trying to make their not so attractive friend feel better about herself?! Or is there another scheme involved here of setting the bar low in order to boast their own attractive scale up.
I see, hear and read this constantly. What we're observing however is a carefully constructed feminine social convention, and a feminine-combative one at that. By tacitly reinforcing the "good looks" of an obviously overweight woman with positive compliments, the latent message is that she doesn't need to improve her looks to attract men. The truth of course is that she could be semi-ƒuckable after dropping another 15 pounds, but in telling her she's hot 'as-is' the idea, in the form of an encouraging compliment, is to get her to relax and stay fat. Thus the complimenter(s) simultaneously feel relaxed in their fat.

It's similar to eating a donut from a box someone's brought to work for all to enjoy. If one person is eating a donut it tacitly gives others "permission" to enjoy one too.
