Seen the news about the new WikiLeaks release? Seems like the US govt can spy on you from your SmartTV, among other devices.

It appears that the CIA can also mimic the hacking pattern of rivals, leaving fake trace data that can be used to assign blame to the rivals for the CIA's actions:

“With UMBRAGE and related projects the CIA cannot only increase its total number of attack types but also misdirect attribution by leaving behind the “fingerprints” of the groups that the attack techniques were stolen from. UMBRAGE components cover keyloggers, password collection, webcam capture, data destruction,….”

"As Kim Dotcom summarizes this finding, "CIA uses techniques to make cyber attacks look like they originated from enemy state. It turns DNC/Russia hack allegation by CIA into a JOKE"

Hacking has been the best defense so far against North Korea's missiles. That's why they keep crashing and going off-course. We hack into the guidance systems and manually crash them. It's not that NK can't fly a missile; the problem they are having is keeping their sh!t from getting hacked.

Regardless, not all hacks are the same. The leaks also pertain to pervasive domestic surveillance and infringements of privacy.

We are well on our way to living in a total press/intelligence/police state if we are not already there. Brings to mind the book 1984.
Some of the press tells you what to think.
Intelligence community knows what you are thinking.
The police is the only part of that equation currently missing.

In 2003-ish, you'd be a called a nut job for saying this. Take all the stuff nut jobs convey right now, and realize 99% of it is new technology.

It's eerily funny how much of the scifi stuff in movies ends up becoming real technology in some way.

Not sure if this is vault 7 related or not, I come across it through youtube yappies, yapping about the anals of dark web (takedownman). These are stolen NSA hacking tools. Downloading as always a problem, I got it to give me proper error message today, just like in youtube video, but then it went 504. Here is link to actual files https://onlyzero.net/theshadowbrokers.bit/files/windows_warez.zip and one of the news stories. Password on the file should be ****TheWorld. If you get your hands on it, please share.
