well... take a look at the numbers of reported cases of BSE & vCJD.

it's talked about much more in the UK, which has an overwhelming proportion of both the bovine & human cases reported, than anywhere else, including the US.

Actually, the 10th case since 2003 was just found in a diary cow in Canada...
And ths US had its "first" confirmed case back in 2003...
