What helps you fall asleep?

Exactly that, what helps you fall asleep?

Herbal tea? Milk and cookies? Tea and Honey? A shower? A bath?

Im back in school and need to get my sleeping schedule perfected, what are some ways that help you fall asleep.

btw i know some smart ass will suggest tranquilizers :)

don't sleep for a whole day.
then the next day, you can fall asleep at ANY time you want.
and from there on, just go with your desired sleeping pattern.

there is a sleep deficit in what crazy Asian suggested. You'll have to make up for the lost sleep at some future date.

I tried the not sleeping for a day thing, sort of on accident. What happened was I fell asleep mid day the next day so I still didnt get to sleep when I should have.

An hour before bed lower the lights a lot. Stay away from caffeine at least eight hours before bed. I think getting on the computer an hour before bed can be a bad idea since you are staring at a bright light. This works for me, when you lay in bed close your eyes and imagine some really wierd stuff. Like elephants running then growing wings and flying then dropping bombs but when the boms hit they grow flowers and on and on.

Ambien worked good for me, but made me feel groggy after waking, but the shyt works for sure. Even makes you hallucinate if start to fight it.

Get up early and live for a whole day. Don't just sit around watching TV all day. Get out and do stuff all day long and you won't have any trouble getting to sleep.

And you can't make up for lost sleep as mentioned above.

Edit - If you can't sleep, do something productive during your waking hours. You'd be surprised how much work you can get done in the AM.

I think speed dawg has the best suggestion. Wake up and work out then do school and afterwords work or do whatever to keep going. That works really well for resetting things.

For a cheap fix, gravol (generic brands are cheap at about 100pills for $5 CAN).

I take 2 50mg pills to fall asleep @ 6'05 175 pounds, 6%bf.
Increase the amount by 25mg for every consequtive day. Just don't get addicted to it.

Takes 1hr with or 45 without food to take full effect.
