Don't delete this thread. Death is not really a Don Juan topic, but your view on death can certainly impact your view on life and romance.

Just curious what you guys think.

I think after death, it's just lights out. Just like going to sleep and never waking up. Nothing...

Is that good or bad? It's neither. It's just not.

Dude, I think the mods can quite clearly see where it needs to go, you don't have to point it out for them

P.S. Wiggadude I believe in reincarnation and kharma, I agree with buddism more then any other religion.

or you can be like constatine

in where through the death of his wife, chooses to kill himself only when he actually does kill himself in life he has commited so many sins that heaven doesn't want him and neither does hell, so he's stuck on earth fighting the forces of hell in hopes that he can start his life over again.

it could always be like that.. although i think it would suck to be rejected by both heaven and hell..

I'm not religious, but I would like to think there is such a place as Heaven to continue living in some form.

Sometimes at night I lie in bed and think of what it would be like to die. I just imagine my world closing in and suddenly going to black. That's it, blackness.

A bit morbid, I rarely think about death due to the melancholy state it puts me into.

Or.. if your not religious like me, than you just get buried into the earth inside a box.

Somehow I think that there is an afterlife (like the budhists i think) but you wont be reborn on this planet. Most likely I think I'll be something or someone else in a different world out there in the Universe.

Seriously though, people want to believe there is an afterlife, that your consciousness continues on after your brain permanently shuts off. But that's exactly why the belief exists and persists-- because people want to believe it, desperately. For most, the idea of their consciousness ceasing to exist for the rest of eternity is almost unfathomably frightening. So if there's a philosphy that comforts them by maintaining that there is an afterlife, they will cling to it and defend it, sometimes vehemently. But I have no reason to believe that anything happens after you death, except becoming worm food.

I try to put that in a positive light and see it as motivation for making the best of the time that you do have before you no longer have any more time at all.

Death = nothingness. I am curious as to what your brain interprets of actual death, I mean, imagine you get shot, would you interpret it the same way you feel before you go to sleep, with strange color paterns, random memory flashbacks and weird sounds?

But there is no heaven, no hell. I used to believe that but realised the origins of heaven and hell were to condition/scare the lowly peasants and keep them in check.

Oh, and if there were a god, he would stop the wars, injustice, death, and destruction all in his name (be it YHWH, Allah, Dios, or anything else).

There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no death; there is the Force.

The only thing that you lose in death is your ego. The afterlife is simply your return to the Great Spirit. There is no God, no Jehovah, no Allah..these are just the many faces we have put on the worlds biggest mystery. The very concept of a God only serves to alienate you from your creator, which resides inside of you. the church does nt want society to know this. They would rather have us believe that there is only one god, theirs and he can only be reached if you play by their rules... the BS piles so high into heaven that if there really were a righteous diety up there, he would surely strike us all down!

The truth is that what we refer to as God is simply the process of the universe experiencing itself. Each life that springs forth is another hub in the network of consciousness that binds us together. Your purpose here is to reach the creator within you via the inspiration of an incredible world of wonder, and EVOLVE.

If you really want to walk with God you must discover your passion...not so much with a woman as with life itself. When you free your mind of social conditioning and realize how magically limitless your potential is, you are one step closer to discovering the Creator within. The only part of you that will survive death is the legacy you leave behind. Once you are gone, all memories of who you were completely vanish and the remnants of your energetic being are united with the collective soul of the universe until you decide to exist again...an instinct which is honed by your desire to create! So it all ties together quite beautifully//

Some ask how I know all this and if I have any proof. It may sound crazy, but I have had 2 near-death experiences where a lot of these things were revealed to me...things I had trouble accepting until life started teaching me the same lessons.

I don't expect you all to understand...brainwashing is a tough thing to undo. But I wish you all the best of luck on your journey towards peace and fellowship.

After much thought, I believe once we die it is over. There is nothing after, the body/brain ceases to exist and that is the end.

Does anyone remember not existing?

To say there isn't something after this, or before this is almost absurd, in thought... but as to what awaits us all, after this life is hard to imagine.

I'm with Don Ronny and Sazuki on this one.

I'm not big on the whole god thing so i think we just shut off and dont exist anymore.
If by some slim chance it turns out that there was a god all along, then earth must be hell, so it can only get better.

When you die 5 possible scenarios can occur...

1. Things get progressively better (heaven)
2. Things get progressively worse (hell)
3. Things go from bad to worse to vice versa (reincarnation)
4. Nothing happens (nirvana)
5. Everything repeats (groundhog's day)
