The reason why you always hear talk about the rationalization hamster is because women decide on something (or take an action) then rationalize, the rationalization aspect being the hamster that spins furiously to rationalize something.
If a women finds you hot, rich enough, or alpha enough, then most actions you take will be seen as favorable. You have a 4 inch ****? She'll love you and say its the biggest she's had. You are poor? She'll love you for the man you are. You say something halfway intelligent? You are the smartest person she's ever known.
Then if don't have these so called "primary" qualities, if you aren't sexual enough, if you are too beta, if you didn't tickle her fancy somehow, if you can't dominate her, pass her sh!t tests, then all goes to sh!t. You could have a 9 inch **** and she will say its too small. You could have muscles and a hot body and she will say you are compensating. You could be nice she could call you weak. You can be an asshvle and she won't fvck you cause you're an asshvle.
They already like the man in the article you posted for some reason or another (he is handsome, he has fame etc. etc.) and then they can attribute bullsh!t qualities like he is open and honest, vulnerable blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah..
It's like a woman telling you she like's humor and confidence (granted they can increase your chances) but if she already finds a man who has turned her on sexually it won't matter.
You can be the funniest guy in the world and if not sexual with her, you are just a jester. You can be sensitive as fvck but you'd only be an emotional tampon if you weren't fvcking her first. You can have all the confidence in the world, but if you don't use that confidence to advance sexually, then it doesn't matter.
All of the traits in that list do not matter unless the guy can socialize sexually with a woman. They are absolutely secondary to being sexual.
