Saw this article online about Kelly Valen [kellyvalen.com] and her book Twisted Sisterhood. It's all about how women backstab and manipulate each other, nothing new! and she uses about 3,000 replies to her questionaire.
Many of these women find that their male friends are far more trustworthy and honest than their supposed girlfriends, and I know there are lots of women who have NO womenfriends at all.
This kind of puts the idea of Intellectual *****dom and being an Emotional Tampon in a different light. They don't have anyone else to turn to.
Our POV here is that this is something to avoid like the Plague. An invitation into a woman's close personal life is NOT an invitation into her panties. Either she wants us as sexual male partners, or she should go to her girlfriends, there's nothing in between.
That's just wrong.

If women clearly understand in advance that approaching men for emotional support isn't the same as approaching women, we can make this a positive thing. Lay out groundrules where we do/don't have the option to date. Let us know what they intend to do with the support we offer.
Remember, these women are coming to us because they are genuinely afraid of their friends' treachery!
