"This board is a distraction for me while I'm at work."

Suuuuuuuuure it is.

"The sites I'd rather be on are blocked (e.g. myspace). I post here while I'm waiting for code to build."

Thanks for all your blathering justifications dude.

Insecure= you.

What are you afraid I might think you were a lifeless loser if you didn't try and justify yourself or something?

I don't care if you play World of Warcraft and surf 4chan all day looking at hentai porn in between posting here while your dog licks the peanut butter off your tiny balls.

You don't need to lie and pretend you are 34 and not living in your parent's basement.

Thumpin your e-chest like you are something special citing your imaginary job.

"Again, you have how many thousands of posts?"

See unlike you I'm not insecure and don't need to justify myself to anyone much less an ignorant douchebag such as yourself that was thoroughly owned by everyone in here (Road Demon especially) yet you still keep on posting.

Now if say someone here that I respected asked me the question yo Kontroller why do you have so many posts bro? I would then graciously answer them.

You however...

Well...

You're a turd.

Turds don't deserve the dignity of a serious response.

Turds need to be flushed.

So go flush yourself.

The argument is NOT that there are no genuine cases of mental disorders, some of which may be rooted in a genetic problem, a virus, bacteria, etc. The argument is that IN FAR TOO MANY CASES today, diagnosis are made, and drugs are prescribed, with little more than questions being asked about feelings and behaviour. And this my friend, is not real science.
There are validated methods of ascertaining a known disorder from a presentation of behaviors. I don't think anyone here has the credibility to argue what is "real" science in regards to personality disorders and diagnoses unless they are either a clinician or a practicing, formally educated scientist (i.e. someone with graduate level training).

I do agree with you, SoCal, than there is a group of disorders that is often erroneously diagnosed; and unfortunately I think many medications are doled out for problems that can be treated with cognitive therapy. If you work in the medical world (i.e. a hospital) you know that there is no shortage of depraved, drug-seeking losers who plug up our healthcare system like gunk in your bathroom sink.

So, having said that, I think we need to be careful before slapping a BPD label on some chick who is, for all we know, just acting like an irrational chick. As Road Demon pointed out in his excellent post, a true clinical presentation of BPD is someone who has a SEVERELY malfunctioned ability to self-regulate normal feelings and relations.

Again, I am no expert, and I don't think anyone else here is a true expert on psychiatric disorders unless they are a psychiatrist. We can learn a lot from reading credible sources and talking to the right people; but we need to be careful about assigning ourselves some sort of diagnostic authority because of an anecdotal experience.

You can believe whatever you like.

Listen, I shouldn't have poked fun at you for having that large number of posts. It had nothing to do with the argument. But you're going way overboard here.

I'm not going to argue and call names on the internet. It's childish, and not manly at all.

So we'll leave it at that. Fair enough?

This is a trap many people fall into.

One does not need a degree in math to understand that 1+1 does NOT equal 3.

It's simple: if a behaviour is ABNORMAL, then and only then, should we be going down the route of diagnosing a possible mental disorder. And even then, we should be looking to rule out external factors first. In the example of a child with "ADHD" those external factors could be diet, abuse, or no discipline.

SocalMike's cute little negative rep he left for me after his false apology...

"Doubt you'd say that **** to my face fag"

That about says it all for the douchebag known as SocalMike.

And here I was thinking about offering a counter apology.

Oh well.

Hey Mike I'll be happy to say exactly that to your face after you get your head out of your ass.

The point was to keep it private, not argue on the net out in the open.

Actually, I shouldn't have even sent you that comment on neg rep, that in itself is pretty lame. I slip up sometimes.

I guess my point is, if I were standing in front of you, having this discussion, would you be saying all this crap?

I don't necessary mean that in a "I'm so bad ass" way, just in a basic human decency kind of way.

Think about it... do you see what I'm saying?

The net is impersonal, so it's easy to start hurling insults. But it's masturbation. 9 times out of 10, you would NOT be doing these things in real life situations.

So, I'll tell ya what: I'll chill if you will.

Like I said, I started this by making fun of your posts, so I'm willing to accept that this one is my fault.

We are cool now and in fact this was both our fault.

Oh well a little egg and pie on our faces of embarassment is good every once in a while I think. :)

I personally know three women who I have been told are BPD. Never dated one myself, but it seems this is quite an epidemic lately.

Having educated myself on BPD and HPD in the last couple days, I'd say HPD is by far the more prevalent issue, especially for those of us in the community. Furthermore, I think we've all encountered these women at least once in our lives, possibly before even becoming "game savvy". Seriously, if you read the common symptoms of HPD it's like most of the highly attractive women I've ever known.

I think with divorce rates skyrocketing and women not growing up with a strong father figure to set them straight that guys are going to have a much harder time with women due to increasing rates of HPD. And it's going to be a double whammy for our kids with how emasculated males are in our society now and on the horizon (not enough "real men" to keep women in check, so to speak).

Case in point, my friend's ex was remarking to us how wussy and unattractive guys are these days. She just wants a man to "be a man" as she's just looking for an FB, but is constantly turned off by guys who want a relationship first, don't pull the trigger, blah blah blah. And I've been seeing this sort of wussy behavior from guys repeating itself a lot lately. It's weird how both genders are undergoing changes wrt societal norms and social dynamics right before our very eyes.

Cool bro.

I think some debate is good, I like different perspectives as we can often learn from them.

I think most folks have good intentions here.

All behavior is rooted in positive intentions. It's just that some peope haven't learned the skills or have been lucky enough to have the positive experience and upbringing to teach them that it is really ok to feel safe expressing themselves and their natural human desires without feeling under attack. So the natural response is, (for some people at least), to always feel on the defensive at some level. Their behavior, therefore, is always from a protective mindset, and anything and everything (to them) can be percieved as a threat from which they feel a need to protect themself at all costs.

Since this board is primarily focused on strategies to get and keep women, the key for DJ's is to formulate a weed out process to disqualify these "kooks" early and quickly, without any disrespect to self or others.

Throwing out simple tests and gauging their responses, in order to evaluate self esteem, social intelligence, interpersonal skills can help one avoid the girls talked about in this thread and others.
