is a sign of a good workout soreness the next day? or does your body eventually cope with it? ( even if you always work until failure)

Just going to failure doesn't always make me sore, but getting a spot to help me go past failure and get about 5 more, that makes me sore.

But yeah, it's a good sign.

You're talking about DOMS, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. It's where your muscle tears on a microscopic level. It isnt the sign of a good workout, it isnt the sign of a bad work out. But sometimes it can help lead to a problem if you dont go easy on the muscle for the next few days.

It's a satisfying feeling in a weird and sick way, nonetheless ;)

Your muscles wont really get used to it as such, although you can do a few things to reduce the soreness:

-make sure you stretch well after your workout
-whey protein also helps cut down on the soreness

Yes it's a sign of a good workout, but you can have an equally good workout without the soreness too.

To prevent the soreness, take a maltodextrin or dextrose energy drink (buy at GMC) immediately after your workout. Protein doesn't help as much as simple carbs for restoring glucose levels. Take 3000mg of vitamin C in 3 doses everyday, and take calcium with protein before bed.
