Ok,

I am 58, so, here is a tip for you younger guys.

Take a 100 bucks and open an online account with a discount stock broker.

Bubba has an account at Sears.

but,

A DJ (that's you) have an account with an online broker.......

So, who do you think this little 'hot babe' is going home with tonight?

You (the DJ) or the fvcking Bubba?

Think about it.....

Your lucky number it seems.

So why do you even suggest stock market?
I personally hate the stock market.

I already know about that rule.

Thing is this, let's pretend, at the rate of 10%, it will take about 7 years to double your money.

And I don't think many of us have thousands of dollars to invest like that, so if someone invest $500, in about 7 years, he'll make $1,000.

Wowza!!! That's DAMN long!

You once said it took you about 10 years to make $100,000 in hard green cash. That's not good news.

200 bucks.......

Hey,

Let us say I am 18 and I have 200 bucks to invest....

So I split it....

(forget taxes and broker fees)

100 in a cd at 3%--- in one year I have what $103 weeeee...

100 with an online broker for one year.......

Let's say I play Ford...ticker F.

Ok...........Here are the rules.......

1...All and I mean all stock prices roll.........
2...I buy low and sell high........Fvck taxes and fvck broker fees...

Here we go..........

Look at the one year chart on F.......

52 week low.............9.07
52 week high..........15.00

up down up down up down.........)

So, I say "Hey this son-of -a- b1tch' rolls between 9 and 15...

So, If it falls to 10 I buy and when ever it hits 13 and change I will sell........

That is called 'Take the cash and dash'.

)

I think that "Real Money", by Jim Crammer by far is one of the best books on the stock market you can buy. Just my two cents.

According to Trump, the stock market is the biggest casino in the world, and I think he is dead on about that. Inexperienced people get a few stock tips and they jump in w/o a plan, and they lose their shirt.
Most people that dabble in the market with high risk stocks like IPOs are actually gambling, even though they think they are investing.

I would only get in if I knew something that no one else did yet about a company I was planning to buy. If you do business with a company for awhile, you sometimes have the opportunity to hear things and learn things before the information gets out, and that lets you get in before anyone else does while the stock is still cheap. If you wait until the stock starts going up, its already too late.

I just got a new job at a place that gives out a huge bonus of 19% of your annual pay once a year. You can use the bonus to buy company stock and the company will match your investment. For example...if I put $2500 of my bonus into stock purchase, the company will throw in another $2500 so I will have $5000 in company stock. A few months ago the value of the company stock went up 46%. I believe I can also invest a small amount of my pay each week towards the stock purchase. I don't start until Sunday night (3rd shift), so I don't have all the paperwork and information yet. I think I"m probably going to take advantage of the stock purchase program, though.

sell?

fyre,

Check it out.

2 sides of the story here:

Folks that work at Walmart (WMT) and bought company stock are rich.

Folks that work at Delta Airlines (DAL) and Lucent (LU) who invested in company stock are broke.

my 2 cents

?????

fyre,

What would the cave dweller do? You ask....

Keep in mind here I am the cave dweller not a stock broker.

The company I work for says---- for every buck that I invest in them they will match me 30 cents.

So, the cave dweller has them take out 10% of his gross paycheck (off of the top).

I am not telling you what to do, just telling you what I do.

my 2 cents

I used to work for Proctor & Gamble and took advantage of their stock purchase option and matching.

The place I just got hired by is currently #4 in the country for the best place to work. They even have an exercise room with a lot of equipment and they offer exercise classes for employees at no charge. They will also give me $500 a year to join a health club. They have organized sports teams for: ski, softball, racquetball, baskeball and soccer. Discounts at area health clubs and many local merchants. I think you can even get a discount and better interest rate at a few car dealerships.

There are people who try for years to get into this company. It's a wonderful place to work...and a yearly bonus of 19% of your annual pay is a mighty nice perk.

ok.......

Hey,

Sounds like you are moving up....

I know it is a 'mans world', but, sometime I wish I were a woman.

Why you ask?

What would I do?

I would buy:

1....an up lift bra.....
2....some nice panty hose
3....a skirt with a slit up the side (to show a little thigh)
4....a new blouse

Then--------

When I go out if I meet Carl the house painter or Joe the sheet rock hanger or Paul the plumber I would say..NEXT.

I would only go out with:

Bill the banker
Mike the mortgage broker
Roy the real estate broker

Well:.........You get my drift.

That cracked me up. :D

What if Bill the banker was an extremely nice guy who always showers you with compliments and calls you 24/7 even at work?

Unfortionatly stock market has been getting a bad rap. The reason is; lot of uneducated people trying to "ROLL THE DICE"
The trick is; find one stock and REASERCH IT UNTILL YOUR HEAD HURTS. you need to KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT THE COMPANY, not just the name. The other thing is, don't listen to analists, they are always late to the party. DON'T DEVERSIFY, PUT IT ALL IN ONE PLACE!!!! Since you already know so much about the stock you should be comforatable in investing in it (if you think it's right.) Stocks market goes up and down, almost dayley. Every so often it will go down (one a week). This is called a correction, You can usually tell haw deep the correction is going to be by the amout of volume being traded (big spike in volume traded at the first sign of going down). My personal rulle of tumb is if the correction exceedes 10% total "SELL" no second thoughts about it. You may loose 3 times $200-300, but you just need to win once to get 3 000...... check out KEC on TSX (this IS NOT A TIP, this is just to prove a point) rightnow it is in it's correction period (it hasn't fallen below its 50 day moving avg).

do not judge a stock by its PE ration. It has been proven that PE had noting to do with any of the stocks that made a humongus money in the past

few things to look for; -Profit/loss (%000) should have at least 20% increase in profit over the year before.
-Noticable revenue increase over the last year.
-noticable Increase in Earnings per share over last year
-good news Eg; Not the news that they are building an oil platform (that costs money) You want to hear that they eather found oil or are starting to pump it out of the ground.

And then there is a write and wrong time to buy. You want to buy the stock as it is breaking out of it's base line average, NOT when it starts a correction..........

Ps. for all of you buying your company stock, be very carefull. by getting their employees to buy the stock they inflate the price (does not really apply to some stocks because they have A HUGE VOLUM TREADED, but for smaller companies; the amount of money the employees put in can make a huge difference in their stock price.....)

No you wouldn't...believe me. Most men who work in the financial field are duds...extremely boring.

I had a lawyer chasing me once who after going out with once I avoided like the plague because he was so damn boring. I'm sure that not all of the professional guys are bores, but I'll take a fun poor guy over a rich bore any day.

The company I start working for Sunday night has been in business at least 35 years and is the world leader in the products they make and sell. They run things so efficiently and have such a solid customer base that they have bought the businesses of some competitors and never had a layoff before...EVER. They have a "no layoff" policy. There are over 500 employees that get a yearly bonus of 19% of their annual income. The least anyone would get for a bonus is over $5000. The company has to be on solid ground to be able to throw a chunk of change like that to so many employees every year.
