I searched for this topic and didn't find anything. I'm interested because i'm asking for a friend. :D

So what's you guys take on this? Is there even such thing as "sex addiction" and, if so, what would it constitute? We've all heard that men think of sex every 7 seconds, or something like that (at least I've heard people say something to that effect a few times). So, if that's the case or even close to it, then it would seem that would be normal. If there is such a thing, how would one go about treating it?

Further, do any of you feel like you have no one to talk to about these thoughts? On the one hand, you have women and you certainly don't want to talk to them about it! With women, you actually try to game them, or you simply leave them alone. And with guys, you're just going to seem plain weird if you bring up the fact that you can't get your mind off it.

Google it......the answers will be endless.
I probably didn't draw enough attention to the "What's your guys take on this".

Google also has ample opinion on what contititues being a man in the 21st century, but I'm personally more open to the opinion I can find at Sosuave.

i think a lot of 'natural' DJs are actually sex addicts. they learned how to game because they needed to feed their addiction.

the fear of rejection paled in comparison to the need to get laid. they'd go out asked out one girl, get rejected, then ask out the next one right beside her. shamelessly playing the numbers simply to find a p*ssy to get in. over time they figured out what worked and what didn't.

think of quaqmire from the family guy (in terms of shamelessly seeking sex at all times).

i dont think there's anything wrong with enjoying sex. its a natural 'high' with no withdrawal effects.

the problem becomes if your having sex for psychological reasons - ie. needing constant validation through sex. or if you are ruining relationships, your bank account or your career with inappropriate sexual behavior.

then you have an addiction that needs to be moderated.

as for how to moderate it, you probably need to visit a psychologist and delve into the reason you require so much sex with so many different partners. its almost always an issue of low self esteem i think and the need to constantly prove to yourself that you have value. sex addicts have simply made attracting the opposite sex and sleeping with them the yardstick for whether they have value or not.

You are not "adicted" to sex. If you were...then your daughter $$$ tuition that you are investing for her would have been gone LONG time ago.

Wanting and or loving sex is not the same as addiction. Addiction is self destruction...to the point that the person would spent $$$$$ to get it.

There is a movie that accuratelly portrait (although, it is a comedy) the life of a sex addict. The main character is played by Fred Savage (he used to be a good actor when he was a child). The name of the movie is "The Last Run".

Addiction should not be in the true DJ vocabulary. Sex does not define a DJ either. I am sure...a man that was a true DJ would not stop being one once he reaches 80 years old. A man in a wheel chair will not allow that physical disability to stop him from being a DJ either.

DJ is a man that has full control over his life. Addiction has control over a man...and that's why it is not part of a DJs vocabulary.

That's my opinion.

To me, a sex addiction is boning a woman that you really aren't interested in, and that if you knocked up, you would be embarassed because her position is life is so far below you (or at least she is not hot enough to make up the difference.) It's like drinking too much and getting behind the wheel, and then getting in accident, or otherwise in trouble with the law because of it.

I will admit that I have a bit of a sex addiction, but I have not knocked up a woman. This would be similar to the drunk that has not been picked up for DWI yet.

Ok, so I think I can buy and agree with when it begins to destroy/affect critical things in your life.

So, then, does that mean that cheaters are "sex addicts"? Or is it only those cheaters who don't have relationship worth saving/maintaining anyway.

honest question, are porn stars like Peter North and Evan Stone sex addicts or is just a job for them?

never under estimate the role of circumstance in peoples lives.

i mean, most doctors come from families where one or more relatives are doctors also. same goes for lawyers. same goes for garbage men.

we tend to walk through whatever doors are open to us in life.

so as for porn stars. i doubt peter north said 'im gonna make it in the porn industry!". he may have been talent scouted in some gym. or he may have banged some chic that new some guy in the porn industry that told him he shoudl do porn cuz he cums like an elephant.

who knows. but i bet a lot of porn stars aren't sex addicts, but are strippers, escorts, models, etc. who get offered some gig for $1,000 bucks, they need the money, the do it and so begins a career.

i mean, the porn industry is a crappy industry. unless you're at the top of it you get treated like sh*t. i mean, do you really think that these women enjoy having 100 guys *** on their face? guys like to watch it, but in reality that would be f*cking gross as hell. i guarantee you almost any woman walks away from that thinking 'what the f*ck have i done with my life. this is pathetic'
