No.. who is saying it is a magical thing?

It is making me feel alot more confident and better about myself and more comfortable around girls since stopping. But it's not magical.

But it will definately help alot. Porn ****s you up and makes you unable to relate to girls and makes you more anxious around them.
This is not the first time this thread has been made. This thread gets made every 6 weeks with some member having an "aha" moment and feels like giving up wacking has or will improve his relationships with women. That's simply not true. I think it's a placebo effect. It's all in their head.

I wack when I want to. It has had a neutral effect on my sex life in terms of stamina, sensitivity, premature ejaculation, etc, as well as not affecting in any way my ability to land a date or a lay. I wack when I want to and when I don't feel like it, I don't. I'm not addicted and I can go long stretches if I'm just not feeling it. It doesn't affect my life positively or negatively in any way. It's just something I do. Like playing sports, playing video games, working out, whatever. It's one of many activities I participate in.

Not at all, there is much research on how it rewires your brain and so many people reporting so many great results rules out the placebo.

Apparently it doesn't effect some people i've talked to.. but most people it does have negative effects looking at too much porn.

Seeing that you don't do it much by the sounds of it, you haven't seen the effects, but from somebody who has gone from doing it way too much and and had negative effects it certainly does make a difference.

It's a placebo effect. If it was a proven scientific fact we'd all be having the same results and everyone would be on board with no wacking. That's not the case. Some people report improvements, some don't. I'm not repressing myself sexually, in any form. Just not my thing. You only live once, I'm going to do what I want. Plus, you'll be able to find tons of urologists that say masturbation is healthy. Plus what are the female effects of masturbation? Most girls (at least in my age range) admit to masturbating a decent amount weekly, especially if we're talking vibrators; so why no "anti flick" threads on female forums? Porn/masturbation only damages the male mind? This no fap thing will probably work for those who want it to work and believe it will work, and not work for men like me who don't think it'll have an effect either way. Placebo.

Anyways, back in my super afc days with no girls and a lot of time on my hands, I was spanking it a few times a day, every day.

The main reason for my cut back was becoming more social, making new friends, finding new interests/hobbies and pretty much not having the free time I once did.

But I am fully capable of masturbating, and having sex the next day or even later that day with no problem. I have a very high sex drive and one way or another, I have to drain the pipe.

I'm old enough and experienced enough to realize porn is fantasy and not a realistic portrayal of how sex is or how it's supposed to feel, so I doubt it has any physical or mental affects on my life. I've never turned down ***** or missed out on ***** because of masturbating. I've never had sexual problems from masturbating. Like I said, it what it is. I do it and think nothing of it. I don't feel shame for doing it, I don't feel like a loser, none of that. I do it and go about my life.

MisterD just because it does nothing for you doesn't make it a placebo. The world doesn't revolve around you bro. Stop trying to sound so smart, it's actually pretty insecure of you trying to prove these guys positive lives wrong and trying to validate how awesome you are. In other words, cool story bro.

Anyway... I think it's more of a porn thing than anything else. With easy access to porn these days, it really does **** up the way we view women. It creates many issues that have already been discussed. If you're going to masturbate, don't do it with porn. Porn is really the quick fix, the mental stimulation, the easy way out. And yes, it most likely ****s up the way you view women, makes you a nervous wreck, makes you unable to relate as well. While porn might be fun as hell to watch, it definitely has huge negative side effects. Stay away.

Why are you getting so defensive guy? Sorry if I don't agree with what's being said, this is a forum and I'm entitled to post what I feel whether you agree with it or not. I'm not trying to come across as "awesome", I'm trying to come across as normal. I can separate porn and sex and I figured most men on here had the ability to do the same. I didn't think that made me awesome, I thought that was expected.

But there is no "anti-porn" thread, there's only an "anti-fap" thread. Guys are not just avoiding porn, they're avoiding masturbating altogether which is in my opinion, pretty extreme. To each his own, but I'm tired of guys coming on here thinking if they do extreme things, it'll improve their chances with women. I highly doubt women are saying "you know if I stop using my vibrator I'll improve my chances with men". I swear some dudes on here will try anything if it promises them any sort of success with women.

Its the fapping to porn thats the problem

but fapping without porn is bad too, you lose a lot of energy when you *** from fapping, you lose a lot if zinc in your body which in turn is for testorone, and when you lose that testorone, well....its what makes a man a man....so if do a ton of fapping, lets say you will have a lot if female traits in you then manly traits.

and sosuave chill bro, dont bash christians, I dont see any if them bashing you that was uncalled for, you the only person being judgemental right now

Your testosterone will rise for 7 days with no ejaculation, after which point it will plummet off a cliff.

In all ways, the body reserves resources it doesn't need for other things.

RESULTS:

A wide range of better psychological and physiological health indices are associated specifically with penile-vaginal intercourse. Other sexual activities have weaker, no, or (in the cases of masturbation and anal intercourse) inverse associations with health indices. Condom use appears to impair some benefits of penile-vaginal intercourse. Only a few of the research designs allow for causal inferences.

The 7 day testosterone rise is true. Hey do whatever makes you sane and strong. Placebo or not, if it helps you, by all means do what you need to do. When talking about humans, not all things work for everyone, you gotta experiment in life too see what works for you.
