I read somewhere that there was a study done and that looking at porn decreases confidence in males or something... is this a load of BS or what?

Watching it in excess would probably have some physiological effect on people....like believing that the women enjoy it as LJC said, subconsciously. So yeah it could decrease confidence if you think about it in that way.

I hate porn..all it does is entice you to jerk off, then you're all alone again lol..
what's the point? yeah it feels good and the release and all but it's a totally jipped way to get off..i'd prefer a night of extended foreplay even with no actual sex ( but still getting off) rather then just watching porn...

I think It *can*.

Only if you find porn as a dependancy to get off. I watch it, But You need to get laid regularily as well. Otherwise your mind will start to think this is as good as you can get.

It can, if you compare yourself to the people on there. If you start thinking that you can't make a woman orgasm because you aren't totally ripped and don't have a 10 inch **** and that you can't have sex for 40 minutes without stopping to breath, then it might affect your confidence.

Everybody over the age of 12 knows porn has nothing to do with real life. Its' b.s. that makes men (and boys when they can get their hands on it) happy. Just like Oprah, Dr. Phil etc. are b.s. that makes women happy.

i had to quit because i became addicted to that ****. i realized that when i finally do get a woman, it would hurt our relationship if i kept it up. porn gives you a false sense of reality and makes girls out to be objects. i'm glad i got away from it.

Me and my gf both look at porn...we even share it sometimes. I have a relatively high sex drive...I need it like 2 times a day atleast...3 is ideal. We both work and I go to school, and have other stuff going on so I only see her at night. I take care of myself the other time(s). Porn is great to help with this...although I don't need it...it does make the whole thing a lot more fun. My gf uses porn to masturbate too.

I do agree with the whole seeing women as objects thing...however, I think women actually LIKE being treated like sex objects...as long as you're not forcing them to do things that they're not comfortable with. My gf says she loves being submissive in the bedroom, and she says it turns her on to be ordered around and told what to do. I think a women generally likes being with a sexually aggressive guy who will have his own way with her, assuming she finds him attractive and she is okay with the stuff that they're doing.

Looking at porn or not looking at porn has not made any difference in my life with women. For example, I did not look at porn between April 13, 2007 and September 28th, 2007 and didn't see much difference then when I looked at some porn earlier, or since September 28th. One thing I noticed is I've disciplined my mind where, if I allow a parameter of viewing porn, I most likely will take advantage of the parameter of viewing it and actually view it rather than exercise restraint, if I dont allow a parameter and put a gun to my head (i.e. cancel internet service) then I wont view it period. So it seems that I have to usually be tough with myself.

Right now I'm not looking at any porn since I have a tightly regulated policy - and may only allow a couple of hours a month of soft-core porn consumption up to December, failing which, I'll cancel my internet service (never been triggered before, but I know I mean business). This limited consumption is allowed because my prior gf dumped me on September 28, 2007, and that was our last meeting and I dont have a relationship. Should the relationship has passed that date - then there wouldn't even be any allowance of porn.
Again - I feel I have a right to look at a very limited amount of soft-core porn because I dont have a relationship and thus dont think life is fair in that regard.

Honestly I "enjoy" porn. It is the closet thing to sex I have had in a year. I have way too much porn 46 gigs of it. Without porn I wouldn't ever see a naked woman.

But I am doing an experiment this week. I haven't looked at porn or masturbated since Saturday. My goal is to see how long I can abstain from the two. And then see if there is any change in myself because of it.
