New website tracks lovesick travellers
I'm astounded at this - really. Even in my worst AFC moments, if I've managed to enjoy sitting next to any woman for a 6 hour flight and I find her attractive, I've got her number. Who wouldn't? It really is the definition of easy; you have confined space, one-on-one interaction, close physical proximity, endless opportunity for privacy, you can immediate carry on to drinks/dating chances after the flight - I mean, c'mon!!! It's all there... she's practically begging you for a chance to continue your meeting after all that.
Apparently though, thousands upon thousands of men miss this chance, and regret it later.
astounding...
What's worse, and the biggest lesson here, is that so few of these lonely AFC's ever get to hook up with their escaped target. Once she's gone, as Natalie Portman so forcefully put it in Black Swan, "she's GONE!!!!!".
"The site, which is the brainchild of Sydney businessman Will Scully-Power, is yet to declare a match but he says more than 30 per cent of visitors are staying for more than 10 minutes, indicating they are "highly engaged" in their search.
Scully-Power met his own girlfriend on a plane and says he was encouraged by figures showing 4400 people a month type the search term "met on a plane" into Google".
Yet to declare a successful match-up.... that's some kinda hit rate isn't it? Women who have met you, talked to you, shared your personal space, ideas, thoughts all that time, given you indications that they like you, and yet you haven't followed through? Yeah, they are then RUNNING to this site to try and find you again because they can't wait to have an AFC like that in their lives.
sheesh....
See, interact, close. You must close. Or end up like these lonely chumps - searching the frikkin internet for hours, trying to find her again.
She's gone.
