Jersey Shore is one of my guilty pleasures. Shhh!

However for discussion id like to talk about the Ronnie, Sammi relationship. To me, she seems borderline (BPD). Always blaming, accusing, jealous, controlling, cannot forgive, always bringing up the past. Ronnie seems like a cool guy, but is just being brainwashed by this crazy woman...

What do you guys think? Is this an accurate BPD example? I was in a relationship like this, and everything you hear is true about these women, RUN! I'm glad I did.

Watching those two is like witnessing a train wreck. My hate for Sammi is only rivaled by my utter disgust for Snooki.

Sammi is one psycho, attention seeking drama creating degenerate; the fact the Ronnie puts up with her behavior and then comes back for more leads me to believe he is a huge p***y and AFC.

Show not worth watching anymore; every week is the same and its all scripted.

They're that annoying couple we've all known who would fight at parties in front of everyone. Head-over-heels in LOVE with their own drama.

I watched a bit of that show, I dont like it. It's just full of drama and ****. I dont understand how anyone could call those guys DJ's. They just say what they think girls want them to say, and rely on their body + videocamera's to get them chicks. Wouldn't be surprised if people start thinking that you need a sick body and a jersey shore tan to get chicks.

Exactly; they are not Dj's by no means. They dont even get that many hot chicks to sleep with, even with the cameras.

They rely on their popularity, together with a lack of any inhibitions; they just say whats on their minds and if it doesn't work, proceed to another chicks who will want her 15 minutes of fame.

Popularity: isn't that just social proof?
Lack of inhibitions: isn't that why most AFC's fail? They are inhibited by their own beliefs and society.
Say whats on their minds: isn't that why most AFC's fail? Too afraid to say the sexual things on their minds? And act on it?
Proceed to another chick: called nexting. Instead of analyzing why something didn't work they just move on to another girl. It's a numbers game.

While I don't like the show either, what you described is actually a very, very valid way of getting girls.

You are right; what I described is indeed alpha behavior, and I admit that the men on JS posses it to an extent. I just consider an alpha man, or a high quality man to have more then that going for them. We all know guys who can pull, but it doesn't mean they are true DJ's or a good model for a man.

What they do may get them a low-medium quality SNL or a make out session, but I can not see any of them meeting and maintaining a true high quality girl.

Game and being a man goes beyond acting like a macho in the club, relying on buzz that is created by a TV series and going from one drunk/ugly/attention seeing girl to the next.

Even though they pull chicks, I would not use any of them as a model for a true alpha Renaissance man; and that's what we are here for IMHO. Not to learn how to act like a d-bag, but how to transform into the best version of yourself.

Children,

That is a tv show. Most are New York actors. Just do some research.

It's a horn they sound, signaling that one of the guys has brought home a "grenade" i.e., a girl who is either fat or not very attractive.

Most people watch TV for entertainment and entertainment alone. They don't watch it to see if the men live up to a certain standard of alphaness and whether the man could be a role model or not.

Also, drama, questionable one night stands, ridiculous mannerisms etc. are all what makes it entertaining. If it was a show about multiple people in nice stable long term relationships, being polite and etc... no one would watch it.

Why do you boys think Married with Children changed situation comedy forever? Because it proudly portrayed the modern relationship dynamic more realistically.

Here's a spot on BPD post from another thread I fully agree with:

WTF is wrong with you? I'd kill for a girl with those 'issues'!

Read the BPD threads, for Christ's sake! Where's the part where she dumps you for no reason, then begs for you back, while having a guy 'friend' over at her house? Where's the part where she fakes serious medical conditions, and/or convinces you she's dying? Where's the part where you find out her whole life story to you was totally fabricated? Where's the part where her 'stalker' breaks down your door and tries to take your life? how about five years down the road after you dump her where she STILL manages to convince you of her lies? How about her making up nonsense to fight with you, and ending up with other men?

Stop insulting those of us who've had a REAL bpd in our life! 'Trust issues.' Oooohhh. What a psycho! You better count your fvcking blessings, little boy!

Talk to us when you find out your 'virgin' has starred in gangbang porn, before you talk to us.

Getting back on topic regardless of the scripting or editing of the show, or the braindead cast, I feel that for anyone interested in visually seeing a BPD chick in action, watch a few select episodes.

Sammi is a psycho, and Ronnie in my opinion is a normal guy. To me, it's interesting to see how a psycho, toxic girlfriend will destroy a "used to be" normal man. In a relationship like this, there's no winner. When women can't get over the past, and come from failed or even abusive relationships with men, THEY can not be saved. As you walk through the cold, dark corridors of her mind with so many twists and locked doors you eventually begin to go crazy yourself and crumble. It's interesting seeing Ronnie decaying as a man because of this toxic girl.

Re:

Sammi is not BPD, she is simply the typical girl of our times aged 18-30 and possibly similar to our cougars, too.

She is selfish, egotistical, self-centered, *****y, faultless, immature, cold, spiteful, vindictive, heartless, and all around a poor example of a Girlfriend.

 I've watched the show on and off since S1.

I was initially sucked in because it was like watching a train wreck. JS is entirely offensive to the sensibilities. I find the bigger issue, than the stupid drama, or the fact that this is one of the first "reality" shows (it's not real anymore), where the actors/people earn significant sums of money, are comped while on the show and claim to be 'real.' They aren't.

1) They aren't men and the women are sluts. The 'lessons' and ideas being thrown around are watering down people's concepts of relationships. Everyone is entirely disposable, fits into a certain idea (grenade, etc) and the guys use 'em and lose 'em.

2) You become numb to what you see. It's just...'accepted,' that this is what they do. This is what our generation does at clubs and bars - get drunk, dress like idiots, hookup and find another person. How do you differentiate meaning amongst the masses of asses?

---------------------------------------------

With that said, at the end of S1, ron and sammi broke up during the 'live reunion.' I do not recall the circumstances, but essentially Sammi ditched ron and I recall him walking off. When s2 came, he went in with the mantra "you don't come to JS with a bf/gf." He didn't view what they had as a 'relationship,' even if she did. He wasn't at fault...they weren't together.

Sammi never locked him back down, nor apologized for what occurred and Ron went into it with a chip on his shoulder. He had given up a part of his life, youth and likely 'fame,' for this girl to be branded as the weakest guy of all of the men (ala Melinda and Danny from Real World/Road Rules and the Boston/Texas deal).

I believe this 'situation' happens more than men want to admit, because it was a grey area. Even though the s2 previews showed Sammi and Ron 'getting back,' they weren't and he likely had some pent up issues with her. She isn't a strong enough woman to be firm in her words, actions or decisions, so she accepted it. She's of weak character and comparable to women of prior generations, she's barely a little girl.

So during s2, he did no wrong. This reminds me of Ross and Rachel..."we were on a break!, " as he proclaims his innocence of meeting someone new, if only being during the short-term. During the latest season of JS, it hit a head b/c neither were strong enough to focus on the NOW and see how infective their behaviors have become.

The fact you're on TV making thousands/episode and possibly locking down endoresements MEANS you focus on the show and get paid! This is there 15 minutes of fame! I am sure they will bank alot of money (sadly) the next few years, from the show, endorsements and appearance fees, on top of stupid spin offs, but this is our sad, decaying culture...

I'd hardly think you can label her BPD, because you'd be apt to do that on a more widespread basis and not handle normal chicks. Often times in very emotionally extreme circumstances people do very odd things. But know that there are women and men that act even worse and it's doing their victims a disservice by saying she's BPD...Ronnie has long chosen to be with her and deal with her crap. She never forced him and there's no kid at play here, so there's no reason he could not have manned up and ditched her.
