Is this an Approach Invitation or what?

2 or 3 times now I've been waiting in line at this coffee spot in my school and I've noticed girls will be in line in front of me and play with their hair a little and start turning around and looking behind them as if looking for something, but they don't actually look at me. They don't do it just once either, they usually do it several times. Today a girl was doing it and then after awhile she just abruptly left even though she was kind of close to the front of the line, and it seemed like she was shaking her head as she left (she left and walked forwards so I could see her leaving). Next time this happens I'm going to talk to the girls doing it, but does anybody have any experience with this type of thing happening to them?

Why are you waiting for Indicators of Interest before approaching someone you like?

If you see someone that interests you, approach her and open her.

Sure simplifies things, doesn't it?

Yeah, it's an invitation. They're trying to get you to notice them.
